Practice question site not available
The practice site associated with the book is not available - the site has been closed. Therefore, the book is all "gibberish". Don't waste your money

Ottimo testo, corposo, completo e ben fatto. Peccato che non se ne abbia la traduzione in italiano. Lo consiglio anche perché è utile per la certificazione Microsoft sul software Project 2013

J'ai acheté ce livre pour préparer l'examen 74-343 (study for the 74-343 certification exam is to be read on the book description). J'ai été très déçu de ne trouver aucun QCM ni en annexe ni dans le livre. Par contre les exercices en anglais ne sont pas inintéressant.

I’ve had this book for nearly 30 days and not far from the end now so a review is in order. Firstly let me begin with saying that Microsoft being American it only made sense that this book takes a PMBOK centric approach. Prince2 trained PM’s will quickly realise their gap in knowledge but will be able to fill that gap by the time they finish this book. Specifically referring to areas around earned value management and scheduling. The books authors spend the first 114 pages concentrating their efforts very heavily on navigation, use of tables and filters. In another words they do not jump into teaching you how to create a new project until you are already getting comfortable with navigating. The authors suggest good practices which many will find invaluable, and most importantly you learn how to think. Matters such as Microsofts programming biases are well covered so that you can better understand task scheduling behaviours. Module 4 is where teachings about project schedule creation begins. This module is made of around 74 Pages and Module 5 is also about the same length. Despite the size of these modules you may actually progress faster with these than with the earlier modules especially if you have on the job project management experience and your are some what familiar with planning. This book is very comprehensive and takes an approach that leaves few (if any) stones unturned, however as the book was written before the pubic release of MSP 2013 there are references to issues about the RTM version which is what the books authors must have been working on whilst developing these modules. It’s a shame that the book didn’t get corrections issued for these pages as you are missing out on some important content. (example page 128) The 13 modules in total tally up to just under 800 pages and it can be completed in 30 days if you put at least 4 hours in to it every day. If you think that you know how to navigate in Project 2013 then you could skip a bunch of pages and make a start from Page 139, where it begins to feel you are learning how to create a schedule and by Page 374 you are able to create a schedule of your own. After that it is about using the tool during the project execution for tracking, updating and reporting purposes. This concludes my review, hopefully by the time you finish reading this monster of a book, you too feel that you have the foundations required to use Project 2013. Beyond this book you are entering into far more advanced mode of operating this software.
