the picture says it is a stainless steel pot but the description says it is aluminum pot? which is it?

The pot itself seems to be anodized aluminum. The stove assembly seems to be stainless steel.

Do you have to use mixed fuel, can you just use propane?

If you get a propane bottle thread to butane canister thread adapter it can run on propane. CampChef equivalent product comes with one but costs more and is bigger. The adapter is available on Amazon.
