I own an original Super Famicom system and an N64 NTSC J model that are both modified. My HD Tv supports scart for composite signals but wanted a better picture quality for N64. Composite signals on HD tvs lead to pixel separation which make games with 3d graphics look untidy, shooters and racing games are a bit unbearable because it's hard to see long distance. The cheap HDMI adapters loose brightness and contrast, which makes Doom 64 unplayable but decent enough for SNES. I could still use the composite lead for that but wanted to see if I could get a better experience with N64 hardware. Doom 64 looked great even though I had to adjust the brightness and contrast on my TV and in dark areas I could find switches even though it's a bit darker than composite, the crosshair on Goldeneye was more solid making it easier to aim. Mario kart 64 looked amazing. This adapter doesn't upscale, but it does clean the picture quality up more than analogue signal and SNES games looked twice as better. Sometimes the audio is absent when turning on but moving the aspect ratio switch back and forth fixes it. I did some further testing, this adapter is not compatible with PAL region. Works with NTSC only.

Works brilliantly, includes all the required cables, and they're a decent length so no problem with positioning the console.

if you're not willing to solder an HDMI into your console and don't want to spend loads this is a really good purchase The Svideo adaptor is better than the AV

Initially, the cable did not work. The warranty card supplied with the cable mentions this as a possible problem. I contacted the company directly via email, they responded quickly and sent a brand new cable which works very well. Happy with the outcome, and the cable itself.

Does what it says on the tin! Found my old N64 in the garage and fancied a walk down memory lane! Plugged in and ready to go! Re living my youth!

I just tried to plug this cable into my GameCube, and have been stuck on a blue screen with "No Signal" on it. The sound from the game's menu is playing in the background. I tried swapping the HDMI cable for another to no avail. In their warranty they mention that you might receive a defective cable, which is something they should really start quality testing for. It should not be an issue to begin with.

Wow. Wasn't sure about the quality of this given a cheaper version was terrible, but it has transformed playing my Super Nintendo on an OLED TV. Bright colours, no lag and noticed a massive improvement from the cheaper adaptor straight from the off. Yes you will need to adjust your picture settings a little for the source you connect it to. Certainly if you have a SNES and want to bring that retro magic back on a modern TV, it's worth every penny.
