Water "conditioner" - NOT a "softener"!
First, NOT a water "softener". I did my research prior to making the purchase and knew this was a water "conditioner" and not a "softener". It will leave smallish mineral deposits on surfaces, however when compared to non conditioned water, there is a noticeable difference. Non conditioned water at my home left large very noticeable mineral deposits upon evaporation. The "conditioned" water leaves small and less noticeable cloudy areas upon evaporation. You will still have to squeegee or towel dry areas that you do not want to see any spotting, like clear glass, vehicle finishes, etc.The product is environmentally friendly as advertised in that it uses no salt or electricity. I do notice an absence of chemical taste in my tap water. I did hire a plumber for the install due to the tight space behind my clothes washer and dryer where I had to install the product. Overall, I'm mostly satisfied. I gave it 4 stars because the product description says "softener", which it is not. If a potential purchaser makes the purchase thinking they are buying a water "softener", they will be disappointed.

It Works....
We have very hard water in San Diego. The scale build here is terrible. After a drop of water dries here on anything, you need a chisel to remove it, or some real elbow grease and a scouring pad. After doing hours of reading/research I decided to go with a salt free conditioner. While TAC (templated assisted crystallization) water is not soft water per se, I do not get the scale build up, and it actually removes scale. Like the inside of my dishwasher, which of course uses soap to clean the dishes still had scale build up.After about 5 days of our new conditioner, the scale inside our dishwasher is gone. It's more than noticeable when showering as I'm not continually reaching for the soap to put on my wash cloth. The sinks in the house don't build of scale from use, and clean much easier. So 'm pretty happy with this unit. ps, I got their water conditioner also. No more serious chorine smell

I expected more
We’ve had this filter for just about a year now, and I’m having difficulty seeing much of a difference. I thought it would remove more minerals, but we still have build-up on our appliances and sink/faucet, and toilet. It’s better than it used to be though. I reached out for advice but never heard back.

Good water conditioner
There were many basic plumbing parts missing in the item that are required. I guess that's their point in selling another item specifically named installation package for this softener. The handyman i hired from thumbtack took a few trips to HD during installation. The product works as expected. I have a 270ppm hard water in my house and i expected the stains on my basins to go away completely after installation. But I still see some which can be wiped off easily unlike before installation. In our showers i notice a great difference though! Overall I'm definitely happy with the product

Meh
Only issue is it leaks at filter. Small leak but based on there suggested a leak is still present. It doesn’t work as well as a true salt softener but I was too lazy to tear down and sent back for full warranty.
