If you have ever gotten a kick out of the dynasty warriors series, you will feel at home with this one. If they never did anything for you, this wont change your mind. Lots of characters, new dash attacks, local co op. So far ive had the most fun playing with my friends at a party or destroying mobs after a long day at work with my wife.

Musou-tastic!
I love musou games...This one in particular is one of the best of this franchise...Character customization, cross save compatibility (PS4/Vita), great graphics! This is very easy to recommend to musou and non musou fans that are looking for a fun diversion!

Seller sold me Japanese instead of English copy, game was unplayable.
I bought this game years ago and finally got around to playing it, and it was all in Japanese. The opening menu options and the in game menus were all in Japanese, and unreadable. I clearly bought the English version of the game, and while I expected the voices to be Japanese, everything being Japanese made the game unplayable.

Graphics are awesome, the fighting style is awesome
Graphics are awesome, the fighting style is awesome. Played these last on ps3, so I needed an updated version. This game has way more options and keeps you interested with all the ways to upgrade your weapons and horses. The way you level up your characters is cool too, you personalize their strengths. Hours and hours of hack and slash fun

Great addition to the series
Samurai Warriors 4 II is a great musou game and addition to the series. The storyline has been changed to follow individual characters instead of factions, and a new challenge/survival gameplay mode was added. Definitely enough content to keep you going for 100+ hours if you're anything like me and enjoy racking up KO's after work.

Heading back into the action!
This game seems like an extreme legends type of game in that it focuses more on individual characters than on kingdoms like the first game did. There doesn't appear to be any way to transfer your save data from the previous game over to this one though so my custom characters were gone. That was a bummer. That probably has to do with the new skill system but I digress...Speaking of character creation it seems pretty much the same as the previous game, a few more options but on the whole I liked the custom options in Dynasty Warriors 8 empires better. You could create more characters and had more options in general.Gameplay is much the same as before but they seem to have gotten rid of skill levels for your attacks and the item system replacing it with equipable skills that function much like items. You level the skills up on a honeycomb type grid similar to the one in Dynasty Warriors 6. You need tomes to unlock the various skills as well as being a certain level usually. There is a challenge mode similar to the one in Samurai Warriors 2 where you ascend a large tower and fight enemies and do various missions. I'm waiting until I finish all the story missions so I haven't seen much of what this has to offer but at first glance it doesn't seem any different than the one in samurai 2. I may do an update if that changes...Overall I am enjoying the game but I don't think it is a must buy like Warriors Orchochi3 Ultimate Edition. Still, it is a fairly good buy though you might wait for the price to drop a bit.Pros:More exciting Samurai actionNew skill systemCons:Challenge mode doesn't seem as fun as Chronicle modeWhere are my custom characters? The game forces you to play the main character in each story mode so I had to play the Naomasa Li and, well, he looks kinda weird imo.The horse AI is kind odd when you try and summon them on the run as they zig about instead of running straight like they were drunk often missing you repeatedly as they stumble about. That's an odd thing to note but so far it's happened more than once so just putting it out there.
