The artwork is on point and since it's black and white, serves as one more visual reminder of the stark contrasts between some of the characters and themes. While the art is a signature element, the real strength to this manga is the writing. Somehow, it gets even better as the story goes on. Not only do Rin and Manji continue to grow and change, but we learn more about Anotsu, as well as other members of the Itto-ryu and the fledgling Mugai-ryu. Another reviewer called the work 'sublime', and there is no refuting that description. This collection contains the volumes "On Silent Wings 1 & 2" and "Dark Shadows."
