Dairy is expensive - try this stuff.
I am a very picky eater. It started at the age of 1 1/2 to 2 years, I never grew out of it. That being said, the Red Cow Full Cream Milk Powder is an excellent replacement for fresh dairy. It's shelf stable, you only refrigerate leftovers. Has all the characteristics required for baking or cooking with milk as an ingredient. The only thing I haven't mastered are puddings in the J box. For some reason, it's not as simple as adjusting the liquid measure, which is water, after making sure I incorporate the two powders (J boxed powder and Red Cow Full Cream Milk Powder together. It turns out runny, or turns into gummy paste. Blech. The hard for me to master J box puddings are the cook and serve. Instant puddings don't have the same issues. I use a hand mixer, or my food processor. Either works. Although the food processor is faster and powers through lumpy liquids, making them smooooooth. (lol) Overall, in spite of the J box mishap, this product works a treat. If you are trying to save money, like I am, by reducing the amount of food I end up throwing away, I have an empty milk jug that sits by and waits to be filled half full of store bought, liquid milk. It doesn't matter whether it's full fat, 2%, fat free, or any milk substitute. To start, using the recipe recommended on the can, 1:1 ratio of milk powder and lukewarm water. It will be lumpy, but the more vigorous the stirring, and a pass through a sieve to get the teeny tiny little lumps, you'll have a cheaper milk product in your fridge. The milk powder also works well straight out of the can as a dairy creamer for coffee or tea. The powder likes warm to the touch water. It will be lumpy in cool, cold water, and performs the same in water that is too hot. Yes, I get lumps in my coffee and tea, but they will dissolve as the temperature drops in your cup. Cooking with Red Cow Full Cream Milk Powder is easy peasy, add the powder to your dry ingredients and mix well. Too well. You can't over-mix at this stage. Add water to the liquid(s) used in your recipe, calculated from the amount of powder added to the dry ingredients. I sieve the liquid directly into the dry ingredients. Mash out the most egregious lumps, passing it through a second time with liquid reserved for this purpose. It's not really necessary, as I haven't had any lumpy gravy or cream sauces using Red Cow Full Cream Milk Powder, but I do it anyway. As for taste. It tastes like milk. I have never been a milk drinker, but I do eat cereal. There is a slight flavour I can't pinpoint, but it's not bad. Disappears if dividing and adding to your milk percentage of choice. Also, much better tasti ng when icy cold. My daughter puts her smaller 1/2 gallon container in the freezer, partially icing up the container. She said she can't tell the difference. And there you have it. A very satisfied customer, indeed!!

Fresh rich flavor!
I’m extremely choosy when it comes to food. I’ve bought this brand several times in the smaller tin and now in the larger size. It tastes great right from the tin! Very versatile for cooking, use a creamer, tastes fresh, and has fewer ingredients added. I make my own hot cocoa in quart jars as gifts & it is always requested! I’ve tried other brands but this is by far my favorite.

Wow -- a totally drinkable whole-milk, powdered, long shelf life, easy to mix with tepid water.
Let's just say that as a kid there were many occasions to drink powerdered milk. Let me say that if Red Cow Full Cream Milk Powder is what I was drinking -- it would have been a little slice of heaven. Red Cow milk is really good. Nothing tasts quite like the real thing, but this isn't far from it, and the shelf life means you will have an ability to reconstitute what you need when you need it. I

great for dry mixes
I love working with this product. I make my own dry mixes and this is so much cheaper and tastes a thousand times better than the grocery store versions. I dont get the skim milk taste in my cooking like I would if I used the powered milk from the grocery store. I have reordered this several times and usually make sure I have at least one can in reserve in the pantry. Once opened I store it in quart mason jars with a vacuum seal.

Tastes Good by the Glass
I've bought this brand & tin size 9 times over the last 6 years. Always had good results while 2.5 Kg lasts 10 to 12 months.. Ignored the use within 1 month direction printed on can, never had an issue. My only complaint has been the couple of occasions we received highly dented tins, seems to happen to others too. This order arrived without blemishes as has many other past orders. I use as coffee creamer, for Hot Chocolate, any recipe calling for milk, & cereal milk. It mixes easily with hot as well as ice water using rechargeable milk frother or protein shaker bottle. Lately I've used Red Cow 28% fat whole milk powder for smoothies & milk shakes. I do like the silky feel in mouth using 25-30g with 3-4 oz of ice water in my hot oatmeal, it's almost like using half & half. Typically we use 4 level Tbsp which weighs out to 24-25 grams or add a smidge more measuring close to 32g that's listed in directions for 8 fl oz of water.

Saves time going to the store. Great way to STOCK UP on milk!
It’s GOOD! Melts fast in hot or cold water! Tastes great; creamy, like and in some ways better than liquid milk from the store. Bit different taste, but I like it. This prevents trips every 1-2 days walking to the store, hauling heavy milk. I prefer the full fat, WHOLE milk because natural health farmers... state that altering milk to be low, non-fat and doing other unnatural treatments... impairs the milk’s function, causes it to act abnormally, inferior in the body. I don’t see a label saying homogenized. I am searching for non-homogenized whole dry milk. Wish they would not add the ‘soya’ lecithin, but its ok for now. UPDATE May 23; Due to the corona virus; our grocery supermarket has banned people from bringing their 'travel' carts into the store. But, if you leave it outside they can get stolen. I need the cart to bring groceries, heavy milk... home from the store (no car or bus). So; I will be buying most groceries online for now. Thank you Amazon! UPDATE; Oct 23, 2020; Love the taste, creamy texture... but; the soy lecithin in it does impair my health. Has soy estrogen... Going back to a different brand with NOTHING else added. Only whole milk.

Being lactose intolerant is a pain. Say goodbye to that forever!!
We had the chance to spend 5 weeks in Spain last year and one of the first things I noticed was that I could have coffee with regular milk and I didn't explode! What a life changer. Let's face it, almond milk is a sad substitute for whole milk when it comes to cappuccino making. I also lost ten pounds eating whatever we wanted and exercising about the same. We realized part of our problem with staying healthy in the U.S. is the food supply. We started looking for a way to replace our regular grass fed organic milk (which I also reacted to) and found Red Cow. There is another brand from New Zealand, but you can't find it on Amazon. (try *bay) They both taste amazing, but Red Cow is a little creamier. If you want to ditch lactose intolerance, just try Red Cow! Preparation tip> I put 16oz of powder in the blender and add 16oz of our filtered water, heated to near boiling. Blending them together vigorously makes sure you don't have any clods of powder sticking to the side. Turn the blending down to its slowest speed and add 32 oz more of pure water and just let that quietly blend while you're setting up the coffee machine. Perfection!
