I need an audi a8 battery with "battery energy management" code to be programmed into the mmi when replaced. will this work?

Hi, if your battery management system works at all like my e90 3 series bmw you can use it.
 If the battery has a different amp hour rating or cold cranking amps you will need to register the battery with the cars eco-(computer).
On my car the battery management system adjusts the charge rate as a battery ages and it’s performance and ability to hold a charge so that’s another reason to register the battery.
I can only tell you how it works on my bmw but I think it probably is similar on your car.
If you have as an tool- not just a code reader you can do the changes on your car.
Most shops will do it typically the charge you a hours labor.
That’s the “right” way to replace the battery I checked on the bmw forums and found that people were saying that you could just replace the battery and not refresh the computer.
I have put 3 battery’s in my bmw and not registered the new battery and not had any issues.
Check on the Audi forums and see what they say.
If you have any doubt do the battery swap the way Audi recommends.
 As to the battery quality it’s great as long as it fits your car size wise you’re go to go.

Mine came only with 12.7v, despite the original ship date was only 3 months away. If the vehicle does not start on very first key turn - the voltage has dropped below standard charge. Hook up a battery tender overnight and start your battery off on the "right foot." If it performs below expectations... send it back.
