Eaton Tripp Lite Super-7 White 7 Outlet Flat Plug Surge Protector

I searched high and low for surge protectors and found that many of the "best surge protectors" recommended by seemingly reputable websites actually have negligible surge protection. This surge protector was the only one I could find that met all my requirements: 1. >2000 J surge protection 2. Clamping voltage ≤400 V (Important, and not always listed! This is the amount let through to your devices before the surge protection kicks in) 3. UL certification 4. Automatic shutoff (i.e., it won't function as a power strip and keep powering devices after the surge protection wears out; this feature has been confirmed by the manufacturer and is listed on the product's spec sheet, contrary to what Amazon's AI bot told me. This means you know exactly when the unit needs to be replaced, no guessing, because indicator lights aren't necessarily reliable indicators.) 5. Resettable circuit breaker (on/off switch) 6. Flame-retardant material 7. Reputable brand 8. Sufficient wattage (1800 W) Bonuses: Insurance. Great price, considering that surge protectors need to be replaced every few years when the surge protection wears out. Flat, low-profile, angled plug. Design that accommodates 3 bulky chargers without blocking any outlets. 7-foot cord (good intermediate length for many settings, not too long or short).

We researched various surge protector options and also discussed them with our electrician and Eaton Tripp was our top choice. We’re very happy with our purchase and we bought many of these to protect our computer and TV equipment. This is a high-quality item and the design is such that multiple large plugs can fit into the protector. The cord length works out well for our needs and the warranty is an extra bonus that we hope we never need to use.

I bought this surge protection power strip for my 100 inch TV and subwoofer and sound bar to be plugged into. This particular model works with my set up perfectly. The 7 outlets it has is way more than I needed, and the 7 foot cord has plenty of space for me without being too tight. The cord is pretty stiff but feels heavy duty. I like that the plug is at an angle because I needed that for my set up because I had another plug that went into the same wall outlet that this surge protector went into and I had very limited wall space(about 2 inches or less). I also like the warranty it comes with. Hopefully I will never need to use it. The pictures aren’t great because the tight space I have to work with. I wanted to show them how they were being used. I recommend this product.

Twice have had lightning strike close by and take out some appliances because they were not on surge protectors. In fact the one strike hit a tree and fried the computer in two cars near the tree. Learned my lesson after second strike! Purchased Tripp Lite surge protectors since they make a great product.

I researched this unit quite a bit as I was looking for a something in the $10-20 range that offered an above average level of protection. I wish that Tripp Lite had more specifications to offer on their electronics than they do (for example, is this a true 3-line suppressor, or will it only work properly with a proper ground?). The main reason I would not rate it as 5-stars or excellent is because it has a slight design flaw. The POWER SWITCH they used is too sensitive and DISCONNECTS/TURNS OFF WITH ONLY A PARTIAL PRESS (before it clicks). This means that accidental shutdowns from pets, feet, slight movements of the power strip are too likely to occur as I discovered when setting everything up. I'm pretty sure Tripp Lite has been putting switches on their products for almost a century, so I was a surprised to find this design error. It's a slight flaw but as anyone who's cat has shut down their computer will attest, it is an unfortunate oversight.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Peace of mind. I trust TrippLite because our IT guy uses TrippLite and APC in our server room. I want to rest assured that my room won’t burn down and my appliances won’t burn out. It’s really for peace of mind. I also appreciate the side sockets that add two extra outlets. It was also the right length for my specific needs. I wanted something short and compact compared to most surge protectors, but I needed it to have 5 outlets, which is surprisingly difficult to find unless you’re willing to trust a brand you’ve never heard of. This one was perfect for me. I ended up buying 4 of these. Highly recommend.

It is very nicely organized. I used side outlets for block power supplies. I also used on middle outlets for plug in cords.

I think this is my third or fourth one. I keep buying them because I end up needing one in every room. They’re incredibly reliable, and I have complete confidence in this product. Simply amazing!

Purchased due to the side mount plugs which are convenient for large power plugs, e.g. modem and router plugs. Only complaint would be the angled configuration of the unit's plug itself. Wall plug wanted to use adjacent to a divider in new wall unit and angled cord plug would not fit so had to rearrange routing and the components being served. Another reason for purchase is experience with an identical protector which is more than 5 years old and trouble-free.

Solid construction with an on/off switch and good number of spaced out outlets. Supports enough power with a decent cord length. I would buy another one if needed.
