Have had these for a little under two years, now. I've had many amps, receivers, speakers and subs over the years, but I bought an audio-technica woodgrain record player for my wife to put in our sitting room and I wanted some new, high quality speakers to pair with it and these seemed to fit the bill perfectly. These speakers are simply amazing. The sound quality is crazy good; sitting in the sweet spot is a treat. I like a lot of bass and these bang and get low. They have a warm profile that appeals to my taste perfectly. They are deceptively heavy for their size and are solid. The speaker cables are high-quality. The cons: The remote is pretty lackluster given the msrp of the speakers; it's Vizio quality at best. They also need to be paired with one device at a time for bluetooth or you'll have connection issues. And they lack a subwoofer input, unfortunately. If you need super heavy bass, you should step it up to a larger size or get another set altogether with a sub input. Buy them on sale!

I held off on buying this system because I just couldn't wrap my head around such a small pair of speakers being able to recreate deep bass and clear bright mids and treble. I'm here to tell you these thing are epic, I got a chance to hear them at a friend's house and was blown away. You will spend hours just listening to old music to hear it again for the first time. Now hear me out these are not meant to be whole house party speakers. They are book shelf speakers. I have a pair of cerwin Vegas LS-12 hooked up to a high end amp and a mid range receiver running it all via a hard wired laptop. That set up is more for whole house parties. But that set up takes up an entire entertainment center and cost about 9 times what this stand alone system costs. I wanted something small and elegant for my bedroom for when I want to lay in bed and scroll SoundCloud for new music. I am a lover of EDM and there really is no point in listening to EDM unless you have a system to hit the bass ranges necessary to appreciate EDM. These speakers do require a bit of fine tuning to find the sweet spot for best results. Mine are about 6 inches from the backwall and roughly 5 feet apart on a stand that toes them in and down to essential aim them directly at my eyeline and are roughly 10 feet directly in front of me where I lay in bed. Any good indoor speaker system is going to require some research as to the best way to place it. If you just stick them in a corner in a gigantic room they are not going to function properly. But I promise you that when you find the sweet spot you will be able to close your eyes and your music will literally come to life on an invisible sound stage right in front of your eyes. The beauty is that they are easy to move They really don't come to life until you get the volume past level 40. But from 40-47 they jump to life and carry you into a music world few ever get to take part in. The bass and treble adjustments make it easy to make any form of music suit your listening preference. Personally I like dynamic mode with bass at 3/4 and treble at just less than 3/4. I'm feeling bass levels I don't get out of my 12 inch floorstand speakers. Like feel it in your chest bass. The beauty is that even at high volumes it doesn't distort or get "farty" sounding. 48 is about the highest I would take them but at that level I tend to turn the bass down to a little over 1/2 way. I don't like to listen to music at a level that is uncomfortable to the ears over a long period. I'd rather have a ton of bass fluctuations at low volume rather than muffled combined indistinguishable noise at high volumes. They truly are hitting way above their value proposition. I got mine on sale during Black Friday for $350. The sound they produce is comparable to my large entertainment system that cost 3k. Sure with my more expensive system I can rattle the windows in the whole house but this will rattle the windows in the one room it is designed to shine in. I don't know exactly how it's possible to have such great sound come out of bookshelf speakers but they have done it. I'm just kicking myself for not pulling the trigger 3 years ago when I was first introduced to powered bookshelf speakers. I've listened to some other powered bookshelf speakers and they were also quite amazing but they also cost 4 times what these did. And they didn't have the ability to play with the bass or treble. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Do a bit of research on speaker placement and play around with set ups and you will be blown away that 2 little speakers can push out rumbling punchy bass that hits like a powered sub. I could not be happier with these and for $350 I can honestly say it's the best value for the money I've ever spent on a sound system. Also I do 90% of my listening using the Bluetooth feature via my SoundCloud Pro unlimited app which is an upgraded listening quality and it sounds amazing even through BT. Ive brought friends up to my room to hear them and they are always like holy crap how is it possible to get that sound out of this small system. Even at their regular pice between $450-$500 I would still be extremely happy. Just do it already:):) There is one annoying downside that others have mentioned. The remote is not ideal and hard to read without a very bright direct light. But for me I have them set to the preference I like with the volume at 47 and I just control the volume via my phone and never turn them off so I don't need the remote. I just sync my phone whenever I want to listen to them and it works perfectly.

Someone else wrote a review with the word 'eargasmic'. I think that sums up these speakers in one word. I didn't know sound like this was possible. I hear things in songs that i've never heard before. I find myself going through my entire spotfiy replaying everything...its awesome. The sound quality is difficult to describe. When I turn the volume up, it's different than regular speakers. Instead of getting louder, it feels like the sound just gets more 'full'...if that makes sense. It gets louder, but its different in an oddly satisfying way. And it does get loud if you were wondering...I don't know about party with 50 people loud, but it gets loud to where it's uncomfortable to sit in a room with them on full. I knew I wanted these as opposed to the similarly priced klipschs purely because of the weight. I think the klipsch's are around 10lbs. These are around 40lb. I don't care what technology a company claims to use, weight in speakers almost always corresponds to better sound. period. Everything else any company claims is going to be mostly a marketing gimmick...if they don't have weight. I listened to the klipsch's in a store before I bought these and they sounded light and flat. It made sense to me. These are rich, full, and everything I hoped they would be, and if I looked at nothing else about the speaker but weight it would make sense to me. My only concern with these was the lack of a sub output. And this was a major concern for me because I like bass. I saw a lot of reviews on here where people were listening to classical music and jazz and what not. Well I listen to Eazy E, Too Short, Cardi B, Tupac, Biggie, etc, so I was concerned that the lack of a sub wouldn't get me the sound I like. Well to my surprise, the bass is deep, rumbly, full, and everything I hoped it would be (but didn't think it could be). I turn the bass up on the back almost all the way and it hits. I never would have thought i'd say this, but they don't need a sub. If you don't believe me listen to "face down" by Mustard & lil wayne, "get in where you fit in" by Too Short, "freak" by Tyga, just for example. BRU, I'm telling you they hit. And the bass is soooo clean, deep, and crisp, not overblown. What they won't do is play bass that's not there, like if you had a sub and turned it up so that it sounded like crap...these don't do that. So if you don't hear crazy bass in your song, it's probably because the song wasn't made to have crazy bass. As far as build goes, I was also blown away. Especially compared to klipsch. These have what appears to be solid wood siding (not particle board) and like a dark black metal frame. They look sexy, 100%. I also like the remote. It's not a typical cheesy speaker remote like 90% of the other speakers on the internet have. It feels like quality and it works as it should. The LCD (or OLED?) display on the front is awesome too. It also looks sexy. You can control 4 different modes of sound type. As you might have guessed, I keep it on 'dynamic'. To me, and the type of music I listen to, it sounds the best. The cord that attaches these two speakers together looks like a freaking umbilical cord...it's thick and heavy (also sexy). I'm telling you, someone carefully planned every design aspect on these speakers and it shows. Honestly one of the best purchases I've made recently. No regrets. The only bad thing about these is they're going to ruin your listening experience for all other speakers...all my other speakers sound like crap now. Other speakers just get 'loud', these get 'full'. Buy them and you'll see what I mean. Edit: 1 year later, still best speakers I ever bought. Buy them.

The packaging and aesthetics of these speakers are top-notch; they arrived flawless. Performance-wise, the bass is satisfying, but I find the soundstage and separation lacking for this budget. The treble feels slightly rolled off, missing the crisp clarity I anticipated. While they are decent overall, they lack the sonic precision I was looking for.

I began this journey looking for good speakers for video editing. I'm not a sound master guy but I want things at a good place for hand-off for mixing. Typically I'd be at the studio but with covid, I've been WFH. As these would occasionally serve as personal speakers, the aesthetic was also very important. I started really high-end then went really low, trying to get as close to the sound quality I heard from high-end speakers, without spending $800+ per speaker. The Edifier S2000MK3 hits the sweet spot in the pocket (below $500) but sounds (and looks) like speakers worth 5X as much. I would have gladly paid much more for these. Honestly I'm looking to see where I can put another set. They're that good. Now on to the more audiophile-y stuff. Not spec talk or technical mumbo jumbo as a lot of that's out there (plus I'll come off pretentious and you'll hate me. Honestly, I'd rather describe the listening experience anyway ;-). First off, the soundstage is incredible. And for those not familiar with the term, it simply means the presence of the sound in the room. The Edifier S2000MK3 fills the space with full, epic sound that's sweet and serious to the ear. You'll find yourself discovering parts of favorite songs you never knew existed. Matter of fact you'll spend your first few days revisiting old favorites, just to hear how they sound through these speakers. And the features are enough. 2 RCA inputs means my macbook pro and synth/sequencer don't have to fight for a cable. Optical just in case I want to run this through a tv one day. Bluetooth is easy and strong. I don't rely on it for editing even though the lag is barely there. I didn't notice a quality drop when listening via bluetooth, however if you listen intently at certain volumes, you'll pick up on very slight distortion/static. It's not there consistently but depending on the song, it may pop up a few times. All this to say that 95% of people will not notice this. This is me being extremely nitpicky, as there were no cons outside of that. The bass is very responsive. Tight and crisp. It can boom, but that's in Dynamic mode(or with bass dial turned up). I usually have it in Monitor mode, even when listening to personal music. I find this truer sound representation more enjoyable. When I'm at my desk sitting center, the sound feels like it's coming at you from dead center, whilst giving you the ability to pick out sounds that travel from right to left and vice versa. It will be love at first sight when you open the box. The speakers are heavy. The materials, premium. I don't fiddle in the back much but when I do it's a pleasant surprise how first-class the knobs look and feel. Trust me on this one. There's a reason these have a 5 star rating(as of this write-up). Do it. Just order it now. Don't hesitate. You've found it. This is the one.

I want to make the point first, that I bought these speakers to listen to digital streaming music. I have no experience using these speakers to listen to analog (vinyl) music. With that said, these are EXCELLENT speakers. I have them set up in a room that is about 600 square ft., and I have the speakers set on stands 20" off the floor. The range of sound no matter what kind of music I'm listening to is very impressive. I had told myself that I'd first get the speakers and decide on a sub-woofer if I needed one....well, no need for a sub...the base notes are all there along with the high end and everything in between.... I could not be happier with the sound...and, they look cool.... The set up and bluetooth pairing was pretty much foolproof...even for this fool... My one criticism is the remote control which can be/could have been very useful except for the fact that you can't read the symbols printed on the device... Ya gotta find a bright light, and then kind of turn the remote one way or another in the light to try and figure out what button to push. The engineer in charge of designing this thing should have been flogged...well at least had a good talking to... Other then that, very nice speakers for the price... highly recommend... So I've had these speakers for two years now and I'm even more impressed than I was originally... These are great speakers, and at a bargain price... Still not crazy about the remote...

Just arrived yesterday and after 1 day: Had high hopes for these and they do not disappoint! Incredibly easy to set up. Solid construction - these are heavy. Sound stage is great. Crisp highs, range of lows from the driver is truly impressive. Detailed, true to life presentation. Maybe a little on the bright side, but obviously dependent on the mix and quality of the recording. Personally I am looking for brighter sound with highs further forward and lows further back, and these are near perfect for me. Used my wife's Galaxy to test aptx bluetooth and there was an obvious improvement in sound quality while streaming- to the point where I don't think many people, myself included, could tell the difference between aptx and analogue. Bottom line these sound really, really good. Loud enough to fill a medium size room easily with no degradation as higher volumes. I am by no means an expert but I would be surprised if there is a clearly better value available in this range. I will update this if necessary but initial impressions leave me highly satisfied! Update - a few weeks later and I have the speakers set up on Rockville wood/black stands with all the wires to my whole set up discreetly hidden away and some nice decorative lights...man I am stoked. A great home project for quarantine! Been playing music pretty much non-stop, going through classic recordings and favorites and hearing new details on everything. Not much to expound upon other than to say I have been pushing the upper boundaries of the volume setting and luckily these speakers hold up extremely well at the limits with no appreciable degradation to sound detail or quality. Super easy to set up and use and they just sound brilliant to my ears. Very good on the lows and separation between all ranges. I am not a super bass head and actually used the eq knob on the back to turn the bass down and it is still plenty. I have no qualms stacking these against much higher priced offerings. Only nits to pick are that the display is small and the control is hard to read in low light, but there aren't a ton of buttons and pretty easy to remember which ones are where. I simply could not justify the s3000 in the small space of my current apartment, but I will have a keen eye on those should I ever need way more output. Again, highly satisfied and lives up to the reviews and sound comparisons online.

This review is for people like me who really love great sound and are struggling to decide between active or passive speakers for their music set up. I'll do my best to be succinct and helpful. I'd really been checking out a lot of different speakers, reading reviews from multiple sights, watching videos, etc. Since I'd purchased (and still have!) the R1700BT way back in 2016 and loved them, I decided I'd stick with Edifier for my upgrade. I've been on the hunt for a system for my company's cafe -- I wanted quality and performance at moderate amplitude with the capacity to drive some rich, full, balanced sound at higher volumes for events. Our space isn't big, only 900 sq ft, and the speakers are mounted in the corners from the ceiling. After much research and internal debate going between in-ceiling, and passive or active bookshelf speakers, I decided to just buy a bunch and test them out. So here's my verdict: BUY PASSIVE SPEAKERS. How'd I reach this conclusion? Here's what I don't like about the S2000MKIII: - They're not very attractive. And this is a weird complaint coming from me because I would not really care if the sound quality blew my socks off. Despite the pics, they're kind dated looking IRL. And not in a cool vintage way. - They're fairly large for the output and bass response. While they do have some nice bass, I needed to basically turn the bass almost all the way up + EQ with a bass boost to match what I was getting with the passive set up I ultimately selected. And I'm not a huge bass guy -- I like good bass but it needs to be in balance / harmony with everything else. I test select tracks to hear what I want to hear. When I don't, it's a problem. While these speakers have GOOD clarity, mids and bass + balance, I didn't get a whole lot more than I do from the much cheaper R1700BT (which are an extraordinary value, imho). And that's what this comes down to: For the price difference between the R1700BT and S2000MKIII, I really expected better quality and fullness. What I got was slightly better sound quality coming out of much larger speakers for 3x the cost. The value proposition just isn't there for me. So here's what I highly recommend you purchase instead of these speakers (unless you're dead set on active speakers). This set up will cost less, sound better, have more flexibility/range at all volume levels + have greater amplitude if you feel like shaking your living room or cafe: - AIYIMA A07 (upgraded) + 36V 10A power supply if you want to maximize output - WiiM Mini Airplay2 - Passive speakers of your choice: KEF Q150, Polk ES15, Q Acoustics 3020i or whatever else you're considering The speaker choice is a matter of your personal taste and intended function. But I found all three of the above to be clearer, cleaner, louder, deeper and richer than the S2000MKIII. I'm a fan of Edifier, for sure, but I was sorely disappointed by the performance of this system. Given how much I love the R1700BT, the quality really didn't scale up the more I paid. The passive speakers + amp (don't use BT, use RCA or optical) + WiiM (so you can avoid BT) turned out to be such a great, simple set up. AWESOME sound quality that legit shook my 1300 sq ft house when cranked up. And all of these speakers look way better than the S2000MKIII.

Where to start.. Comes with plenty of accessories to use all the input/output it offers, really good packaging. They are quite heavy for their size, which is not surprising since they comes with everything integrated, but heaviness is almost always a good indicator of quality when it comes to audio equipment, except for these fake white van hoax home theater system. The cable that join both speakers is thick and long, seems well made, but some may hate it. Built quality is fantastic, they feels good, solid and well assembled. The wood finish is gorgeous and in general, feels like a way more expensive speaker. Knob are sturdy, connection seems sturdy too. Wish it came with detachable power connector like his bigger brother. The remote that comes with it is OK, made out of plastic, but feels good in the hand. Wish it came with built-in LED inside to easily use it when it's dark. Sound wise, if I had to use one word to describe the sound profile, it would be ''Full''. The sound that comes out of these small puppies will leave you speechless. The bass is deep, all the way down to 32Hz which has a small peak that gives a nice rumble during movie scene and music (Tho it will depend on your rooms since before adding sound panel on my walls, I had almost no response under 38Hz) I invited friends to listen to these speakers and every time, they were baffled by how low they goes for their size, really feels like you have a subwoofer in your room, Thanks DSP. The mids are clean and precise, somewhat forward but in a nice way. Vocals, instruments have a great separation and details that I could not even hear on my expensive earphones. For example, While listening to ''Time'' by Hans Zimmer, I can hear the guitar riff clearly even when all the string instruments are at their loudest, before the sudden silent. In movies, this is also really enjoyable because voices are presented almost like you had a center speaker. Thanks to the planar tweeter, the high are crisp and detailed and never fatiguing, except if you put the high frequency knob to the maximum. Everything is rendered beautifully, from cymbal in music to shattered glass in movies, there is nothing left behind. There is 4 sound profiles that you can select with the remote, I only use ''dynamic'' since it is the most enjoyable setting to my ear. Flat is... flat, like really flat, the sames as when you drink a opened Coke that was in the cooler for 2 weeks, nothing enjoyable about that. And the 2 others coloured the sound a bit too much for my taste in a way that it isn't as full sounding. In general, if you're looking for a good looking, good sounding, minimalist speakers setup to use with your TV or just for music listening purposes, these are a really good all-in-one do-it-all speakers. No need for an external amplifier, DAC, or subwoofer, they do everything.

Excelentes bocinas activas. Antes de comprar reflexiona si quieres estas bocinas para muchos años sin cambiarlas. De otra forma te recomiendo el clásico: amplificador-bocinas pasivas donde podrás hacer cambios cuando se te ocurra de cualquiera de los dos componentes. Dicho esto, el sonido es excelente tanto para vinilos como cd y no se diga lo sorprendente que es reproduciendo fuentes digitales o de streaming. El bluetooth es excelente y el dac conversor que soporta APTX hace que los mp3 desde mi celular (que también soporta APTX) se escuchen muy bien. Los vinilos, cds y streaming de lujo. No soporta mqa. Si lo quieres tendrás que comprar un dac que lo tenga y conectarlo a los parlantes. El volumen (que también llaman ganancia) es fuerte pero sin distorsionar. Llena mi sala que es abierta, unos 90mt cuadrados y le sobra. Tiene unos graves muy buenos. Si te gusta el ponchis ponchis estos parlantes no son para ti ya que no traen entrada dedicada para subwoofer, pero no te preocupes, le puedes comprar un dac amplificador con entrada dedicada. Muy buenos altos sin ser sibilantes o que te causen fatiga auditiva. Los medios son bastante buenos y se nota en las voces femeninas y masculinas. Cómo sea, los Edifier tienen mandos físicos para graves y altos así como 4 modos de pre equalización. Si aún quieres más, puedes utilizar el ecualizador de la aplicación de tu reproductor de teléfono o del programa que utilices para reproducir tu biblioteca digital de tu lap o compu. Contras: cuando quieras cambiar tu equipo lo tendrás que hacer con todo (bocinas, amplificador y pre); no tiene salida dedicada para subwoofer; el cable de conexión entre la bocina activa y la pasiva es muy largo como de 2,30 de largo, sin embargo a muchos les servirá para la colocación remota de una de ellas. En general le pongo 5 estrellas Tengo un mes con ellas escuchándolas cuatro o cinco horas diarias y no he notado ruidos extraños o distorsión. Aún así me reservo para actualizar esta reseña más adelante. Actualización. Después de dos meses de tener y oír las bocinas, sigo pensando que son una maravilla. Las he probado con todas las entradas y salidas que tiene, también con streaming de video (películas) y música, PC, CD, Viniles, etc y el sonido es magnífico. Siendo necio y queriendo “mejorar” la calidad de sonido, lo conecté a los dacs SMSL AO300 y el IFI Zen ONE Signature y créanme que no le agrega mucho (termine devolviendo ambos), acaso las entradas para audífonos o la dedicada para subwoofer (no lo necesita), pero en mi humilde opinión ninguna de las dos vale la pena para mejorar la calidad del sonido y sobre todo para el precio que tienen. Solamente una cuestión, cuando subes el volumen al máximo (ganancia) la vibración en el mueble donde las tengo hacía que se distorsionara el sonido y se percibía ostensiblemente (me asusté), todo quedó arreglado bajándolas al suelo, pero como no me quería quedar ahí adquirí unas almohadillas de aislamiento de vibración con sistema de esferas de acero (nada caras) y todo se resolvió magnifícamente. Los cables de conexión son los mismos que venían con las bocinas y de verdad no producen ningún jizz y el sonido es muy cristalino (ahórrate comprar cables caros). Estoy totalmente complacido con mis parlantes, tanto que he compartido con amigos sesiones de música y ahora ellos quieren tener unos iguales.

todos vamos ahí por la vida atravesando diferentes desgastes de nuestra audición, lo que nos vuelve mas sensibles a ciertas frecuencias, algunos necesitan mas graves, otros mas agudos, etc,, no quiere decir que unos estén bien y los otros no, simplemente cada quien sus gustos y sensibilidad, en mi caso soy mas sensible a los agudos y me gustan que estén presentes pero controlados, estas bocinas tienen una buena imagen y soundstage al centro para los que me entiendan, pero a mi me causaron algo de fatiga en los agudos, pero con el Dac smsl su9 que tengo precisamente porque me gusto su claridad y agudos presentes pero controlados, los edifier s2000 han sido maravillosos, hay ocasiones en que le vendría bien un subwoofer, pero para la mayoría de las ocasiones los graves cumplen y los recomendaría por encima de incluso de la barra de sonido sonos arc, el combo de dac y estas bocinas es mucho mejor y a menos que encuentres una buena oferta de las barras de sonido, este combo es mas barato, y también en México es difícil y costoso conseguir un buen amplificador para bocinas pasivas, con estas solo te hace falta el Dac si les quieres sacar el jugo, el detalle es el de siempre, todas las speakers bookshelfs debes asegurarte de poner el tweeter a aproximadamente a la altura del oído y separarlas para que cada una te aviente el sonido de tu derecha e izquierda, ósea que si no tienes el espacio para ponerlas igual y no te satisfacen, pero estas ya son cosas de gente mas entusiasta del sonido y eso ya lo saben, si eres principiante y las quieres para tu televisión y usar el netflix o cosas de streaming, estas buscando en la sección equivocada, comprate una barra de sonido, la que te guste o los edifier basicos creo que son los r1280, suenan como cualquier barra pero si tienes el espacio a los lados de tu tele, se ven bonitos, simplemente el streaming de video no amerita sistemas complejos de audio, estas cosas si requieren discos para que valga el gasto

As an audiophile with a penchant for the finer sounds in life, I've traversed the sonic spectrum with high-end headphones, state-of-the-art amps, and an unyielding loyalty to uncompressed music. So, when my 20x20 garage workshop beckoned for a musical companion, my quest led me to the Edifier MKIII speakers. And oh, what a melodious journey it has been! After a few months of tuning in, I'm ready to sing praises (literally, thanks to these speakers). For its price point, the MKIII is a true virtuoso, delivering a sound quality that can make a symphony jealous. Sure, there are cheaper Bluetooth speakers lurking in the shadows of mediocrity, but if your goal is to serenade a 20x20 space with crystal-clear sound and a bass that hums sweet nothings to your soul, the MKIII is your maestro. Now, a word to the bass-hungry youth: If you're chasing that Honda-Civic-shaking, neighbor-waking, tooth-rattling bass, you might want to look elsewhere. The MKIII doesn't allow you to hook up an external subwoofer, and these speakers are not 10-inch woofers. But for those who've graduated from the school of seismic bass and yearn for a mature, robust sound that won't have the neighbors forming an angry mob, this is your jam, as they still put out enough bass for my wonderful wife to complain from inside the house about 100 feet away. Here's the twist – I adored these speakers so much that they've been promoted from my garage to the VIP section of my house: my bedroom. And now, with a speaker-shaped void in my garage, I'm on the prowl for another set. I snagged the first pair during a Black Friday sale (a steal, really), and I'm eagerly awaiting another deal to pounce on. In summary, even at their regular price, the Edifier MKIII speakers are a steal. So, whether you want to rock out in your garage or create a serene oasis in your bedroom, these speakers are your ticket to an auditory paradise. Happy listening!

Speakers were better than expected. Appears to good value. Nice sound. Easy set up to all my bluetooth devices. Sounds great. Excellent volume abilities. Delivery was an issue, took extra 2 days to arrive. Some weather issue one day but the tracking process not very reliable. Delivery Guy was friendly and helpful.
