This is a great little sketchbook in which you can use dry or wet medium.

This is my go to sketchbook. Check out art i made on this sketchbook on social fernandotheartist. Sturdy hard cover, fits in a regular size pocket so you can take it anywhere. Its about the size of a cell phone. The watercolor pages are thick with nice good texture. If you are drawing with markers or painting on it so the artwork doesn't bleed through.

I happen to really like the paper that Moleskine uses in the watercolour sketchbooks. There's just enough tooth to take the paint and it's heavy enough not to warp a lot if you do a wet wash (the page will curl a bit, but will lay flat after it's dry). I like the ivory color of the paper, too (I am not really a fan of bright white paper). The size is perfect for dropping in your pocket along with a small tin of watercolours and some travel brushes for some on the spot sketching, or you can add it easily to a small sketch bag. Sketching and painting small has taught me a lot about economy of composition and it gives a lot of control over the paint. One thing I tried was toning the paper with Indian Red and wiping it down on several pages. After it was dry, I painted some scenes using some of JMW Turner's sketches and they came out really cool--it gives the work a very vintage look to tone the paper first.

Great for a beginning watercolor artist. Fun to experiment with little artworks without wasting a whole sheet of larger paper. I like how it's travel-sized and fun to take places and play with watercolor.

Obviously, moleskine is a long time art holy grail. For as long as I’ve been watercolor painting (nearly a decade) I’ve never actually tried their watercolor journals. I guess I’ve been afraid to “mess them up” or what have you. Ive always been a big fan of fancy watercolor paper- but I was scared to mess up a page in a nice bound book. I’ve finally gotten to a skill and confidence level that hey, screw it, why not. I’ve been using this as a reference book for myself in my travels of various botanical life and the paper is perfect! I like a bit of texture on my watercolor papers and this has just enough tooth to really get the colors to do interesting things. I ordered two different very small sizes and I love their portability, the elastic band to keep it closed and the additional folder pocket in the back. Classic moleskine functionality with beautiful watercolor paper. Not that expensive either, all things considered. As a watercolor paper snob, I highly recommend!

A very handy tiny little book easy to carry for anytime sketch. paper is thick enough for watercolour wet to wet. Love it and will buy again.

I actually bought this, thinking it was bigger. I looked back at my order and realized it was clearly stated in the description. Either way, I am in love with this watercolor journal. It fits perfectly in my purse. I actually took one of my old makeup bags and added a collapsible cup, this journal and a travel paint brush and pencil and eraser. All I need to paint anywhere if I'm stuck in traffic (my husband driving), waiting for someone or something and I find something interesting, or I come across something that is absolutely beautiful and cannot leave without painting it. I am in this situation a lot. I will say to myself, a camera cannot capture the beauty of this, I so wish I brought something I can paint with so I'll take a picture but it's not the same. Other artists could relate. So this journal was so much better than what I thought I was getting!! Shipping was super fast, I was so surprised to find it in my mailbox, because it was so much earlier than the estimated date. All in all, great purchase, great product and a great seller. I like the size, it's easy to hold in my hand, and doesn't take up a lot of space. The paper is really good, I use alot of water and ink in my artwork and there is minimal buckling.the strap on it helps to keep the pages flat also.. very pleased with my purchase, I would buy again

Ich habe mir dieses Aquarellbuch bestellt, da ich gerne skizziere und meine Skizzen mit Aquarellfarben coloriere. Klein und handlich sollte es sein, damit ich es überall hin mitnehmen kann. Entgegen der anderen teilweise negativen Bewertungen habe ich mir gedacht, ich probiere es trotzdem mal aus und war positiv überrascht. Das Büchlein hat einen festen Einband und wirkt robust. In der hinteren Buchklappe befindet sich eine kleine 'Tasche', in der man Zettel aufbewahren kann. Ein Gummizug hält das Büchlein zu. Ich male schon seit einigen Jahren bevorzugt mit Aquarellfarben und habe schon einige Aquarellpapiere ausprobiert. Natur der Sache ist natürlich, dass die Seiten - wie es eben in einem Buch so ist - nur an einer Seite befestigt sind und sich somit natürlich leichter wellen. Wer sonst mit sehr viel Wasser auf Blöcken malt, muss sich mit einem Aquarellbuch wohl etwas umstellen. Es ist nicht zu empfehlen, die Seite SEHR zu durchnässen, weder vor dem Auftragen der Farbe noch während dessen. Ich würde sagen, dass ich mit "normal" viel Wasser male und bei mir wellen sich die Seiten nicht! Das kommt wohl ganz auf den Malstil an. Für meine Zwecke absolut ausreichend, gute Qualität, kein Wellen der Seiten und sehr handlich. Von mir eine Kaufempfehlung :-)

even though I checked the size I was surprised at the size when it arrived, that said its is exactly what I need for an upcoming holiday to be able to paint on the go. I cant wait to do panoramas across the whole spread.
