How dark does the lens become in sunlight ?

The Lens is both Blue Cut Plus Photochromic. The Lens turns from Zero to 75% dark in less than 30 Seconds when exposed to sunlight. It can be used indoors for protection from harmful blue light emitted by laptop, Mobile etc and outdoors the lenses become sunglasses when exposed to bright light.

Is the lens material plastic or glass ?

The Intellilens photochromic lens is made from a unique CR39 monomer that has silver halide crystals embedded in the substrate. These crystals change their orientation like Venetian blinds when exposed to UV present in sunlight thus making the lens dark grey in color. Once exposure to sunlight is removed the crystals quickly reorient themselves making the lens light and transparent again.

Is it has blue cut glass?

Yes It is a blue cut and photochromic lens that changes color depending on the brightness of the sunlight.

Does it filter UV rays ?

The lens has a unique filter that blocks out both UV A and UV B rays as well as an anti reflection coating to improve clarity and eliminate reflections. The lens also darkens when exposed to sunlight and is very comfortable when worn outdoors.
