LizanoSalsa Sauce

Costarricense que se respeta siempre tiene salsa Lizano en su mesa. Especialmente para los tamales de Navidad. Fue una de las cosas que más extrañé de mi país y ahora la puedo comprar cuando la necesito.

I bought this for gallo pinto and it was perfect for that. I now also use it in grain bowls and on fish or chicken. My family loves it! I bought a three bottle pack and thought I’d have trouble getting through it all, but I’m already almost done with the second bottle. I will buy this again.

The title says it all. I like little more than chopped onions, rice, and black beans fried up in a pan served with a fried egg on top for breakfast but it's not gallo pinto without the salsa lisano. This is exactly the stuff I grew up with. It is the sabor tico.

I had Lizano sauce at Irazu restaurant in Chicago and I was hooked. This is true to the same recipe - a wonderful, savory blend of vegetables and spices. This is good on all kinds of meats and fish dishes. I like to use it as an alternative salsa with plantain chips.

You have no idea how thrilled I am to now have this bottled magic spices available whenever I run out. Years ago I stuffed a suitcase of this so I could make traditional Pinto Gallo. Now we can enjoy our favorite recipe whenever I wish. Magic dancing flavors of goodness.
