If the circle is oblong or not a perfect circle it suggests that the camera was at an angle, making the perspective wrong. This circle can also be used to correct the angle when the image is imported into a design tool. The image can be adjusted until the circle is back to perfect. Its better to take an image with no angle. :-)

How do the circle marks used. Just by evening them out in the photograph?
