Dissapointing compared to older version
Just bought a new collar for our new dog and of course I had to go with Rogz as I loved the collars I'd previously purchased.I'm disappointed to say they've changed a few things and IMO not in a good way.The new version:-Tiny thing ring that barely fits larger leashes.-Collar material is thinner-Plastic pieces including buckle feel/look cheaper than old version-collar no longer wraps around itself through the loop to fasten.-the advertised Low Load Tech ring in the item description is not present in the new version of the collar either. The ring is sewn in before the buckle and is now shaped so you can no longer pass the other end of the collar through the ring.I can't say this last one makes the new version an inferior product but I preferred the old version where you ran the collar back through the ring before connecting it into the buckle. All in all its a good collar and I'll probably still go with rogz, but I am disappointed with the changes. The only reason I'm replacing the old collar is because it was on my short haired dog and after 6 or 7 years its lost most of its bright orange color. It's important to have the hunter orange color just in case the dogs get loose during deer season.

Very Durable - Coloring is great - Recommended!
I have a 17 lb little boy who does NOT like wearing a collar that has dangling tags. He also is a longer haired breed, and collars just opened door to matting around the neck area so at home on our dead end street and fenced yard, I would let him run around the house with no collar and no tags. He is chipped, but since he wouldn't wear the dangling tag indicating so, I was putting faith in the system that someone would "check" if he ever got out of my sight (thankfully that never happened). Since we were going on an extended trip this summer, I decided that he needed something to wear that would provide ID and phone number just in case something happened. I found a nametag that could be attached to your own collar at my local pet store that I had made up to include his name, my cell number and the "I'm Chipped" message. He has been wearing the collar that has this non-dangling tag attached everyday for the last 5 months. It has held up beautifully through his daily play sessions with his younger fur-brother, getting wet, regular walks with a leash attached and all other activities he put it through. I specifically wanted a collar that was reflective and this one is. It never unsnapped by itself. It never got bigger by itself. The leash/tag holder tab is very substantial in size. The plastic locking snap was easy to use, but still strong enough to hold. The only con I could come up with is I only wish that the 3/4 inch collar would come a size that is a little shorter in length. Because my little boy is only 17 lbs, the collar is slightly larger than I hoped for (I got the smallest size which was large). If he tried real real real hard, he might be able to wiggle his head out. I needed the 3/4 inch to accommodate the nametag that I made for him. I ordered this same collar in purple and the 5/8 inch in turquoise to have spares on hand (one for each fur-boy). People actually said they liked the collar itself, even asking for the brand name. Yes, this one is recommended.

I love it! - But don't let the dog washer at it!
Just thought it funny, my dog washers broke my last one. And because of that, I have now purchased my second of these collars. She didn't break it by cracking or breaking or degrading any of the pieces; it's too tough for that. She broke it by forcing the clasp--and I mean forcing--together backwards. The plastic clasp is meant to go together without a mobius twist in the collar. She obviously felt rushed or something. I never really berated her for it. It was an easy replacement through Amazon. But to this day, that old one will not come apart. It is like someone melded the two pieces--and these are the plastic pieces--together; they are really tough. I was just lucky I could still slip the old collar over my dog's head. I would have been challenged to saw it off without possibly harming my pooch. Did I mention this is one tough-made collar? It takes a little getting used to how it loops around and through, but once you figure it out, it actually makes a lot of sense. I would recommend taking a close look at it when you first get it, before you rush to unclasp it. My only real criticism of the product is the reflective portion. It is just two white--but thick--threads sewn around the collar. It would have been ideal if the entire collar reflected light, but I would not have relied on it even if it had, so no lost stars. Collars can be covered by ears, a turned head, or long fur, so I got my buddy a reflective vest for nighttime walks instead. I highly recommend this collar. Your leash (or your dog) is more likely to break than this dog collar.

Well fitting, sturdy reflective collar
I bought this to replace the thin leather collar that my rescue staffie cross had when we picked her up from the rescue centre. It was a bit fiddly at first to adjust to the right length as the material was quite stiff but once I had got it right, it was very easy to put on. The pronged end of the clip goes through the ring and slots easily into the sturdy plastic clasp. There is a little slide button to lock the clasp in place so that there is no accidental unlocking of the clasp.I had the ID tag through the ring initially - it wasn't a problem at all that this was also the ring for the lead - but my dog is allergic to the metal from her ID tag so I had to move it to hook through one of the buckles instead. This keeps her tag in place and off her chest so that she doesn't have the allergic reaction any more. It's a smart, simple, well made collar (I didn't want anything frou frou) and the reflective threading is really useful when we're out on night walks. She's been wearing this for 2 1/2 months now and there are no signs of any wear - and we've had no problems when she's tried to pull away when she's on the lead.Overall I'm very happy with the collar and I will be looking out for more Rogz products
