Red Devil3040 1-1/2in. Double Edge Paint Scraper

I found a scraper like this in a tool box my husband got when his father passed away. It was well worn and probably 30 years old. Being I an avid painter and remodeler, and do a lot of pain scraping., I used it constantly. My hubby would sharpen the blades when they got worn. I finally decided to try and find new blades for this scarper and found that Amazon sells the exact same scrapers in different sizes, as well. I was able to replace me blades in the old scraper and get a new and larger one. I cannot say enough about this scraper. It has a curved edge which slices right through decades of paint when I use my heat gun.I highly recommend being able to sharpen these blades. A great feature about this scraper is that the blades are removable which makes cleaning a snap. I use heat gun or pain stripper so the blades get a lot of paint on them. The handle is make of composite material so it is very durable, and easy to hold. I have many different kinds of scrapers but this is the one I reach for the most. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this scraper.

A Red Devil scraper is the only one I've used for decades (they used to be hardwood... bummer). A vise and file is all you need to keep the blades sharp-and-ready. Other brands are designed to dull and be difficult to resharpen.

Sturdy scraper ,does a good job

This scraper is not as shown. The handle is plastic. Wooden Boat has a few of the 2 1/2" real wood ones left. Too bad Red Devil decided to discontinue a classic.This scraper is not as shown. worked good in small space

Standard Red Devil quality at a reasonable price. Does a good job of scraping paint, smoothing plastic wood, etc.. I do miss the classic red wood handles, but I guess I'm just old fashioned.
