It's so loud you won't need to worry about the alarm. Heck, I can hear it chugging along by just walking by the window it's sort of close by. The noise is a trade off that I was totally prepared to make. It's been chugging along through heat, a flood, and a nearby lightning strike that killed the main tank alarm. Less expensive and more powerful than the pump it replaced. Excellent value

Don’t buy
We hooked it up on a Saturday and by Sunday it quit. I am pretty sure it is over hearing and shutting off. I would definitely not buy again
