Fabulous watercolor brush with real hair
This #6 Kolinsky sable brush is fabulous for watercolor painting. It is expensive, but well worth it. It came very nicely packaged in a gift box, and there was a reusable plastic protector on the bristles. The brush holds a lot of water and pigment, and it is a delight to paint with. It glides smoothly and can be used to make fine or broad marks. This brush size is very practical, and I reach for it often. The bristles are real hair, and they should hold up for many years. After washing the brush, a quick flick of the handle on my wrist brings the bristles right back to a point. I highly recommend this brush.

Best Sable Brush and Best Price
Spending over $50 bucks for a paintbrush seemed a strange thing to do. Especially for a poor retired person. But I have seen Charles Reid use these brushes. Also a few days ago I saw Brenda Swenson use this one too in a video on YouTube. So I there were two endorsements right there. So I had been noticing for some time that my other size 8 brushes were gone. Wore out. So, I thought, okay I need a new one, so here I am with my new brush, the Da Vinci Maestro 35, size 8.Wow. The brush hairs and tip measure slightly over one inch in length! This brush is nearly 9 inches in length. So once you get all the gum Arabic washed out, do some tests for yourself. Holds lots of paint and water. The long tip is a dream. Best brush I ever had. Do yourself a favor. Indulge. Oh, I also checked prices. Dick B- $71.75, Jackson’s-$74.64, Jerry’s-$112.00, Da Vinci NYC- $112.50. So Amazon had the best price too.

Great brushes so far.
Great value for this set of kolinsky red sable brushes. I have only used the 4 and the 0. I have not used the 00000 yet. They have a nice bounce back, and retain the point very nicely. The handles are a perfect length and are light in the hand. Highly recommend this set. If I am not going to use the brushes I actually put them back in the cardboard case they came in. I have used Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Watercolor brushes and feel these are just as good.

Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. So says Mars Attacks
I've been painting models and miniatures off and on for years, like since the mid or late 80s back when Testors was the only thing on the market. As my last brushes started wearing out I decided to finally take the plunge and spring for an expensive brush set. Da Vinci was recommended as one of the best for painters like me.When you spend this much coin on a product for a hobby that brings you joy, you're generally pretty excited to try things out, so I was rather disappointed to discover that the size 0 was packed in such a way that a couple of bristles were bent back. Not the end of the world, so I gave it a try and the bristles simply didn't hold shape at all. Even treating it with hair conditioner didn't help it hold its shape. Given it was going to be my new workhorse, was a horrible disappointment. Now, the size 5/0 and size 4? They're great. The size 5/0 is my go to for detail work at the moment. I recognize that my situation may be a one off. Still, only getting two genuinely serviceable brushes in a pack of three made this a pretty poor buy and worth only 3 stars.

Great brushes, one drawback
I love these brushes, but despite the good packing, one of them lost its tip in shipping. The two that didn't have rapidly become favorite brushes.

I expected better quality for the price
These are very pricey paint brushes, and the very first time I used them, after I washed them, the bristles were already noticeably frayed.I’m very disappointed, especially since I have had 7 or 8 Winsor Newton Series 7 watercolor paint brushes for over 10 years now, and the bristles on those appear in better condition than these were after one use! They performed beautifully, but for how long is questionable. Next time I will just get another Series 7 brush.

... I have found that synthetic brushes hold their form better and don't leave drag lines
I was expecting a high quality brush because it was sable but I have found that synthetic brushes hold their form better and don't leave drag lines. I missed the window to return so I'm stuck with them but will go with synthetic brushes in the future. I like e-boot brushes. But remember, never order brushes from Amazon unless they come in a package. They don't mail single brushes well at all!
