I can use my favorite Topeak MTX bag on my new bike.
Light weight, good fit, easy to install.i installed this on the narrow MIK rack on my Trek Allant 7. It is adjustable and fit perfectly. My Topeak MTX trunk bag with panniers slides in smoothly and is held tightly. For around $20 I can move my bag between bikes. Well worth it!

It "works", with fiddly modifications
I have a folding bike with 20" wheels and a universal bike rack. I also have the small Topeak /pannier bag that I use on my other bikes that I wanted to use on this folder. The Topeak adapter comes with little adjustable "ears" that can slide out to clamp onto the frame of your rack but mine was too wide so I had to figure another way to attach it. After going to a hardware store and just roaming around for ideas I ended up finding some rubberized cord holders that are used in the electrical industry. After fiddling with options, I was able to come up with a 3 point attachment system that seems really stable. Again -- this is for a small bag in which I pack a lunch, small tools, wallet, etc -- not large touring bags.Anyway -- the Topeak adapter comes with adjustable stainless steel screws and nuts, and adjusts in a few ways allowing me to fit it between the cross bars of the rack and reuse the screws it came with. I purchased one long screw (30mm) and nut, as well as a nylon spacer for the front attachment point. The back attachments I just reused the existing screws and a couple washers and anchored everything down well. I used Locktite on all screw points b/c they will assuredly vibrate loose, no matter how it attaches.PROs:1. It is cheaper than buying a new rack for your existing bag; and for folding bikes -- Topeak doesn't make a rack to fit (that I could find).2. It is plastic! It is a hard, (probably) durable molded plastic and will be sturdy enough for my application, but not sure how much stress it can take, especially only the center screws holding it to any rack.3. The screws and nuts are stainless steel and shouldn't rust. They are all metric M5 with a hex head.CONs:1. For what it is -- it is still expensive. I paid $20+tax for the adapter, and then had to purchase another $10 in parts b/c of how limited the adjustability is. Read carefully how wide the little ears will spread to attach to your current rack.2. It sits up high on the rack itself, so if you are carrying other things on there besides a Topeak bag, it will get in the way and make the platform uneven. In my set up -- it is not something I would take on and off.

IT does fit on the Turbo Vado MIK HD Rack.
It takes some fiddling around, but don't get frustrated. Super solid and fantastic option for Topeak Bag users.Tips on getting it on the Specialized MIK rack.1. Move the mounting screws to the far front and back holes so the mounts will be in the lowest part of the fenders.2. Keep the back bracket top screw barely screwed on so its low enough to fit under the rack.3. Slide out the back expanders all the way and tighten.4. Remove the front bracket off the rack and keep the expanders just tight enough to be able to slide with your fingers with a bit of force. Helps with not needing to tighten too much later.5. With the expanders all the way closed put it in the very front opening in the rack. It will fit, just wiggle it in. Then push the expanders out and tighten. Can be the trickiest part getting the Allen wrench in the screw.6. Turn the back bracket 45 degrees while still attached to the rack so it drops in. Straighten it out and tighten the top screw a bit where it can still slide forward.7. Line up the front top screw and tighten it down.8. Tighten up the back top screw, but not all the way to keep the back of the rack from bending down too far. Keep it level.Done.

Not Perfect, But Nothing Is
This is just what it purports to be - a way to adapt a different brand of bike rack to use the Topeak quick lock rail system. It doesn't fit every rack out of the box, but then again as there is no standard for design that is just the way it is. Anyone with a bit of experience and some hand tools can figure out a way to attach this securely, and for some applications the mounting points will work out fine.As I love my Topeak bike bags (having used them for over 25 years) this lets me continue to use my current bags on different racks and have the ease of use and secure connection to the rack that I enjoy with Topeak bike racks. I've used other bags and basically they really aren't very good - velcro that starts to lose its grip after a year or so, and fixture points that inevitably allow the filled bag to shift over and dangle precariously to one side or another or just dump my cargo off the bike.

NO GO for some standard issue Specialized bikes
This adapter will not work with some standard issue Specialized bikes. The racks that came with our bikes are compatible with fit specs for this adapter i.e., width is 120mm and the rack tubes are 12mm. However, it will not work with the fenders that came w the bike.I was able to attach the rear fastener where the fender is lower from the rack. But with that in place the front fastener just will not fit with any of the available fit options as there is not enough clearance to the fender.I spent considerable time modifying parts and rigging something to secure the front. Since I modified it, I will need to keep it for my bike. But I'm not going thru that for my wife's bike so will return one of the two I got.I was disappointed because otherwise it seems like a good product, quite sturdy, and it does work well with my MTX large trunk bag. As long as you have 7/8" clearance from top of fender to top of rack where the fit slots are, you will be fine.

Does not fit my rack. To return it I have to pay postage and 20% restocking fee.
Does not fit my rack. I thought Ok no problem I'll just return it. BUT no I have to pay postage to return it plus 20% restocking fee. This same adapter can be purchased in Vancouver area at Citebike for $24.99. I paid $51.94!! Also on Amazon it sells for $32.61. I bought this from Layger - buyer beware
