Tired of retractable highlighters that dry out, or those cool clear tip ones that . . . dry out. Some brands come with colors that look pretty in the package but end up way too dark to read anything through if you use them over printed text, so you end up not using half the colors. Ordered these because I need highlighters that won't dry out, that I can read through, won't smear, and won't bleed through the paper. Nice size, nice reservoir, smooth application, and comes with a handy desk stand so I put them in one place. These are not highlighters I want to throw in a bag and lose in the bottom of the bag. Or lose at all. I hope they last as long as other reviewers have said. Edit: The yellow one of these dried out after almost two years of occasional use :) others still work just fine with no refilling.

The Staedtler Text Surfer Highlighters Are Awesome! Just Don't show them to anyone else! I did that and Both sets that I purchased were Borrowed Permanently by Office Managers! And Yes, They Are that Good! The Vibrant Colors are a winning feature for highlighting important notes and schedules or to just get Coworkers Attention for upcoming meetings! For the brief time I owned them they were very functional and let Me convey Ideas and thoughts, next time I order them, I will try not to advertise them!

I used to hate highlighters because I saw them as a necessary evil. No, most of them don't work well (they smudge, bleed through, and highlight unevenly) -- but we still need to highlight. That's why I was thrilled to see TheSweethome did a thorough review just as I was marking up a business book I wanted to study. I ordered the Staedtler Textsurfers and was shocked by the difference. Move one of these across a line of text and you get perfect, 100% coverage. No light and dark areas. No smudges. No bleed-through to other pages. Just a perfect highlight. The only problem is, I forgot to bring one of these on a business trip -- and couldn't find them at three different office stores. Moral of the story: don't settle for anything less, and stock up since they're somewhat hard to come across if you need them the same day.

These are GREAT highlighters except they DO bleed through my Bible.

Outstanding brightness. Easy to hold, these things practically explode color and brightness. Love these, a huge upgrade over my previous basic highlighters.

These little highlighters pack a punch! The "coolest" thing about these highlighters is that they are refillable. The refillable ink, however, does cost a lot more than the replacing the highlighters themselves, but if you are green-conscious (that is, if you are into recycling and all that), then purchasing refills is definitely the way to go. I wasn't very used to the size of these highlighters (not to mention, the shape), but I like that you can either highlight really thick, or very thinly. I would definitely buy these again, and the refills, since I am an eco-friendly kind of gal.

They highlight real well , and don’t wear out fast , I also enjoy the colors

As advertised, these markers do not smear inkjet printed documents - can't vouch for laser prints personally. They are bright but not overpowering to the print beneath, and are better than most about bleeding through the paper. It helps not to press down when you use the marker. I've tried and abandoned a lot of markers, and these are keepers. They cost more but all the colors are usable, the slanted nib works well contacting the page. Nice square, non-rolling design with tight-fitting lids. Very Germanic.

I’ve always lived the quality of Staedtler products... You can always count on them to be high quality bright highlighters with nice nibs that provide a nice clean edge when highlighting text NOT fuzzy or blurry… they’re reliable as well and their quality is consistent..
