A milder, healthier alternative to common anchovies
I eat anchovies and sardines due to a need for calcium and protein. These anchovies are NOT swimming in oil and drowning in salt (both which are bad for you) but present you with a mild fish flavor that's easy to add to or modify.I mix them with salsa or add lime juice or a little olive oil and white pepper or even eat it as is accompanied by tartar sauce. It's also good on pizza, in Israeli salad or next to a scrambled egg with hash browns on the said... Endless options!Worthy of purchase for it's health benefits in spite of the cost.Highly recommended!

Pleasantly Surprised by the Flavor and Size!
I recently tried Wild Planet White Anchovies and was pleasantly surprised by both their size and taste.**Size and Appearance:**When I first opened the can, I was surprised to find that these anchovies are sardine-sized. I was expecting the smaller, more traditional anchovy size, but the larger size actually made them more versatile in my cooking. Excellent for sardine sandwiches!**Taste and Texture:**The flavor is where these anchovies really shine. They have a lighter, milder taste compared to regular sardines, making them a great option for those who might find sardines too strong. The texture is firm yet tender, and they are packed in olive oil, which adds a nice richness without overpowering their natural flavor.**Versatility:**I've used them in salads, pasta dishes, and even on toast. Their lighter flavor means they blend well with other ingredients without being too dominant. They’ve added a delightful umami boost to everything I’ve tried them in.**Packaging:**The can is easy to open. The oil they are packed in is also of good quality, adding to the overall taste experience.**Overall:**I highly recommend Wild Planet White Anchovies for anyone looking to try a milder, more versatile fish. The unexpected size was a surprise, but their delicious, lighter flavor more than makes up for it. I will definitely be buying these again!

Not anchovies!!!
Not anchovies. Actually small sardines with no salt taste. Very disappointing. My regular brand has been discontinued.

White anchovies - not salt cured brown anchovies.
I've had white anchovies before (I love brown anchovies - but too much salt/nitrites to eat commonly) and these are great. Mild, not too salty - they do well with whatever you do to them. I add to pizza and load w/ garlic and peppers or add to french bread crostini's (add garlic). Both do great w/ red wine. If you looking for salty/cured brown anchovies, then you'll be disappointed.

Sardines?
Well, they are more or less sardines and not anchovies but I'll keep them. Reason being is that I only eat white anchovies on caesars salads because of the enormous amount of salt. But these are low in sodium and could be eaten in a sandwich.

Best product
I just couldn’t wait to get home and taste it after reading the other reviews, I opened one can to taste and I couldn’t stop eating till the end, it is the real deal and don’t be surprised by the size of the fish, they are the right size as a fresh anchovy from that area of the world and the best aria for the best olive oil in the world.

Just the way I like 'em (not salty/briney)
I used to eat canned sardines until I found these. I like the meaty texture of these more and they're less fishey (contrary to other comments). Plus they're about $1 cheaper per can here than at my local grocery store.
