I really like this product. Very sturdy for the price and it's vented so you can see the level of liquid in your cup before overflow. Prior to having this filter, I had a plastic Melitta pour over filter cup, so there are a few advantages to having this stainless one. 1) no need to have a paper filter and almost no sludge in the bottom of your cup, 2) I can use this over my small mouthed insulated cups which I could not do with the Melitta filter. 3) as mentioned above, you can see if it's going to overflow without lifting it off of your cup. One other advantage is that the plastic one's stability points sometimes break off and that can be a drag when you set the filter basket down and it tips over. That doesn't happen with this product, and it comes with its own stainless drip tray. I'd buy it again, if I'll ever have to. Pretty sure this one will last a long time if taken care of minimally.

I like that you can put this over any cup to make coffee. I was concerned that the water would come out the sides before penetrating the coffee grounds but that only happened when I poured the water directly on the sides of the filter. It works well and was not very messy. Made from metal that is not too thin. This would be good for a camping trip where you don’t have any place to plug in a coffee maker (but have a pot to heat up water). For use at home, it gives you more control over the water temperature which can be a good thing if you know what you are doing. The same coffee can taste different due to the grind or water temperature. It takes more patience than other techniques as you have to continue to slowly pot the water in rather than push a button and walk away like with a coffee maker or just mix and wait like with French press. It is much easier to clean than a coffee maker or French press. I usually use the French press because I am good at that technique and tend to mess up pour over more often, but I use this pour over when I don’t have much time to clean up.

Pros: Very effective at straining. Cons: Too effective at straining to use for multiple cups in under 3 minutes. As some people have noted, if you try to make TWO cups of coffee, it does not drip well or hardly at all on the second cup. The reason is because it is so effective in straining the first cup that the tiny holes in the bottom are clogged after the first cup. If you what it to drain properly after straining a cup of coffee, you are going to rinse it really really well. You are going to have to turn it upside down, go to your kitchen faucet, turn it on high, and run pressure water through the holes in the bottom and let it drain out of the top. It's annoying if you are making a cup of coffee for your mom and want one for yourself. You're going to have to wait about 3 extra minutes to properly rinse it out.

So far so good I have bought three of these filters ,gave as gift and they work well. I have bought another brand and it clogged,but the FOXAS IS A GOOD PRODUCT, I think its the Honeycomb style filter that makes it so effective. Be mindfull mesh style filters must be cleaned - washed properly to get put the excess oil and catch from the brewed coffee, dont just leave it in the sink it will build up.

Fit nicely on cup or thermos. Great drip coffee. Perfect size mess for drip coffee. All stainless. Easy clean under faucet. Goes with us when we travel. We bring a plastic water boiler too.

The base is too small for my coffee mug. I had to use it with a smaller cup. The water runs through this filter too quickly to make a strong cup of coffee. It turns out weak tasting to me. Then you have all these wet coffee grounds to dispose of. I can't just rinse it out and put all that down the drain. Tapping it out onto a paper towel makes a big mess. This is not worth all of that, especially first thing in the morning! *Update: Okay, I've calmed down now... I have a favorite large coffee mug that's too large for this filter ~ it would fall into the cup. I'm using a smaller cup and am not thrilled about that... but if you pour in a small amount of water, a few Tablespoons at a time, the coffee will be strong enough. A second mug is too much for me. I end up drinking 1 1/2 cups, then freezing the cold coffee in cubes for another use. If you leave the grounds to dry a bit, you can scrape them into the wastebasket with a knife. Then wash it out with a brush. It's still not the greatest, but I'll upgrade it from 1* to 3*s. It'll probably be the right size for most everyone.

Okay...this is smaller than my Hario V60 as it can hold about half the volume of grounds. The Hario can be seen in the background of the picture. I use a digital kettle, make my own grounds from whole beans, use a scale and heated frother. Coffee time is serious business in our house. This filter is perfect for small batches of coffee. I bought this as a backup for when I run out of my natural paper filters that I often forget to reorder in time. I was able to brew excellent coffee without issue. I ground the beans extra fine to release the most flavor and brewed 800ml of coffee without compromise. I was not expecting to brew a full pot with precision and success on my first try, but I am happy this works so well. Clean-up was very simple, which I waited a few hours for most of the moisture to evaporate. I have pictures of the filter after cleaning, and the water spots from the hard water are all that remain. If any scale builds up, then I'd soak it in vinegar as with any coffee system. I compost my coffee, usually in its filter, taking away the natural paper material that I like in my compost. So, I won't be using it daily, but time will tell regarding durability. I see many complaints about these types of metal filters, typically regarding weak brew and clean-up. Know your tools and brew; experiment with different grinding levels to get the desired flavor. If you get build-up in the filter, clean with hot vinegar, which I clean my kettle by boiling distilled white vinegar often.

I needed a replacement pour over filter for my carafe. This is even better than my original. The double layer construction keeps sludge from seeping into my coffee yet allows for a much quicker pour over process than my original filter. Extraction was perfect, coffee full of flavor and hot. I make a small pot and this easily handles my 4 tablespoons of grounds.

Best purchase of the year! This stainless fine mesh coffee filter lets you enjoy a great cup of coffee without making a huge pot. I'm the only coffee drinker in the house and was tired of instant coffee so bought this and now my mornings are a joy. I've tried various ground levels (course, regular and fine) and they all work. Filter speed is good but slows as it filters. Easily had washed or goes in dishwasher. Has wide lip to go over most mugs and has a little lip to pick it up to see how full your cup is. Great for camping or cottage. I just love it!

I'm so happy with this filter. It's well made and I like that it doesn't have rubber or plastic pieces. The area you hold it from gets warm, but not hot, after you pour hot water into the filter. The dripping is faster than a paper filter, but I don't notice any difference in taste. Super easy to clean. I drink coffee every day and this is gonna save me a lot of money on paper filters!!! I'll come back and update my review if it begins to rust - it shouldn't! - but so far so good.

Does what it was intended to do,easy to clean,love it

I've tried all sorts of coffee makers, automatic drip, various pour-over systems with filters, espresso machines, and even an aero squeeze coffee maker. Ultimately I come back to basic one or two cup manual pour-over funnel makers, but I hate the paper filters. I'm always running out and they're so wasteful. So I was super impressed with this simple one-cuo maker (I make big cups so this actually makes more than one cup at a time ). I can tweek the coffee how I like it, it's fast and requires a minimum of attention, though I do actually stand over it and stir while the water is running through the coffee. Then I'm done and on my way. Cleanup waits for my return, or even the next day.....I scoop out the old coffee for composting.....rinse the funnel clean in a few seconds and I'm ready to brew another cup. No filters to mess with, no rich hard coffee pucks to scrape out, just scoop and rinse and you're ready for another round....love it!

The reusable filter looks nice and seems good quality. It has worked well since purchase. However, the perforated areas are more delicate than they would appear, and can flex in and out. I think these areas would dent easily if knocked accidentally. With care, that should not be a problem. Two criticisms: 1/ unlike some of the other reusable coffee filters, there is no insulated holding tab so you could burn a finger or thumb if you are making a big quantity and the heat transmits up the the holding tab. 2/ while you are saving a paper filter each session by using this paperless filter, you are likely to use a lot of water rinsing the filter which you won't do with a paper filter, and disposal of the paper filter into the green bin is far easier. Cleaning this filter requires some careful and gentle scraping to empty the used coffee grounds into a green bin. As I noted, the perforated area is somewhat delicate. I wish the unit had come with a fine wood or bamboo scraper to make the removal of grounds to the green bin easier. As it is, the cleaning wand isn't as useful as a fine scraper would be. I don't want to be washing any more coffee grounds down the sink (or in the dishwasher!) as I have to.
