I love this stencil; it makes my golf balls easily recognizable on the course. The channel for the smile is very narrow so you need to use an ultrafine permanent Sharpie for marking the lines. I bought a four pack of Sharpies with red, green, blue, and black. I tried all the colors and found that the red sharpie (on a white golf ball) makes for the easiest identification of the golf ball during play. It's very easy to spot the red smiley face on the ball as you approach your ball. I put two smiley faces on the opposite sides of the ball so that some red can be seen from almost any orientation the ball lands with after a shot. If the ball lands such that the smiley face is in an orientation where you'll be striking it on your next shot the ink can get smudged so by the end of the round the smiley faces can get worn out - but not so much that you can't see the red markings from some distance away.

This little gadget works pretty good…definitely need a fine tip sharpie.

The stencil works exactly as it’s supposed to, it just is time-consuming. The ease of use is not great, and this is not a good solution for someone that wants to mark their ball easily. Either rush it and the skull comes out poor, or you have to take a minute or two to really fill in all the lines. The ridges at the bottom part of the top school are especially hard. You’ll need a thin sharpie. I would add that you’re probably gonna want to mark your golf balls prior to getting on the course.

This was a perfect gift for a golfer and got a great reaction. If you know someone who talks about tee times, wind direction, and “that one bad hole” all week, this is a great pick. It’s a fun gift, but still practical and well-made, so it doesn’t feel cheap or gimmicky. Great quality for the price and definitely something a golf fan will actually enjoy. Highly recommend if you need a gift for the golfer in your life — especially the one who somehow turns every conversation into golf.

Love the pattern

We loved Breaking Bad so we think this is great. We used a sharpie to fill in the Heisenberg. Easy to do. The sharpie does wear off after a round but who cares, maybe there is a better marker out there?

I have purchase 4 of these so far. Not because I love them but for gifts to a few dudes I work and golf with. Any of these stencils that have too much detail are going to require an ultra fine point sharpie or else whatever you're trying to stencil will bleed together and look like a blob on your golf ball. On a more positive note, I totally appreciate the fact that these are made of metal and I like the variety of stencils. ALSO! Two out of the four stencils I received had marker around the stencil and the company tag was removed, they were definitely used because the other two I received were clean and had a tin cup tag. Overall they're cool. If you see one you really like it might be worth the 20 bucks .

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Very well-made and works great. I have had a few of my friends ask me where I got the cool stencil. Also, when I am looking for my ball in the rough, I know exactly if it is my ball or not. If you are looking for a unique logo on your golf ball, this one works great! I saw this ball marker and thought it would be ideal for my golf balls. I tell everyone that my little cairn terrier Lucy stamped them all for me (not that she is that little!), everyone knows if they find any golf balls with the "paw print" they know where they can return them to, if they wish!
