Would a garage remote fit in the mesh pocket?

Hi Joe, and thanks very much for your interest in High Road car organizers. Remotes come in different shapes and sizes so the best thing would be for you to measure yours to see if it will fit. The mesh pocket on the Visor Organizer is slanted and is 1.25" across the top and 3.25" across the bottom. The height of the pocket is 4.25". Under the mesh pocket there are 2 pockets measuring between 9 and 10" long. The height of those pockets is the same at 4.25". Your remote may fit into one of those if it doesn't work in the mesh pocket. Hope this is helpful. Kim, High Road Organizers

6 inches is too big, so why say no need to worry? i need a narrower one and it is hard to find.

Does it have a hard back (like cardboard) to hold its shape stiff and flat?

I just installed mine yesterday so i know it does not have a hard back. It's flexible. Not sure why you would need it so stiff but I suppose you could always put your own piece of cardboard behind it. I do like the design very much with the different slots; zippered, clear plastic, slip in
