I fell down my wooden stairs twice within a month. I bought these grip pads and I've never fallen since! Installation was easy, and while they are visible they're mostly clear so they don't look terrible. I feel much safer going up and down my stairs in sock feet, and safer on behalf of my guests as well. They've been in place for over a year now and haven't moved, stained, or lost their grip.

I stuck three of these on indoor tile steps about a year ago, and they have not budged whatsoever during that time. They've accumulated a bit of filth, and even a steam mop can't get them clean, so I'll probably replace them soon, but they are very effective.

They work really well for my hardwood stairs, initially out of the package they didn’t seem like they had much of a grip but I can say socks and no socks they work very well. They keep my wife and baby safe on the stairs and that to me is already worth it. The only reason I give 4 stars is the corners don’t adhere extremely well, they’ve been on for two days and already some of the corners are coming up, I don’t think it will be a huge issue since it’s very minimal where it is coming up but something to note. Honestly I think the lack of adhesive on the corners is from the way it is shipped and packaged - they come rolled in a cylinder - not very efficient for something you want to lay flat. If I started over I would lay all the pieces flat on the floor for a day or two with something heavy on top of them to flatten them out, that would probably solve the corner adhesion issue. They are extremely easy to install just peel and stick, I’ll also note that they aren’t exactly “clear” and are visible - to me this isn’t an issue but for some it may be.

I was hesitant to install because I was afraid I would mess up. I followed the instructions and they were easy to install. It’s been a couple of weeks now and they look great. The dogs can now go up and down the steps with ease due to the grip. It’s very comfortable to up and down with bare feet or sock and no slipping. I use my Dyson to vacuum to up dog hair and it glides right over the threads and cleaning is a breeze. I’m very happy and I would highly recommend.

My 9-year-old husky fell down the stairs last Sunday and hurt himself. I went online in search of a product to help make the hardwood steps not as slippery and found this tape. It is awesome! I installed them yesterday and he is now going up and down with such ease. Once I got the hang of the installation process, all 15 steps were done rather quickly (masking tape is your friend!). Make sure the area is cleaned well and dried completely. I didn't have any issues with air bubbles or corners not sticking (handy little roller it comes with). Very happy with this purchase!

I installed this on interior wooden stairs made of walnut after both me and my wife slipped down them on Christmas morning. They are mostly transparent, about as good as I expected. Installation wasn't too difficult, but I did waste 2 strips trying to figure out the best approach. My opinion, expect to use 1 strip as a test. I also strongly recommend buying a decent 4"-6" ink or craft roller if you don't have one. The kit comes with one, but a good roller makes a significant difference. I laid each strip on the steps prior to removing the backing, marked where it should go, then slowly peeled the backing off while rolling the strip. You need to have the strip lined up properly, so you can avoid peeling it off and repositioning it. That just leads to the strip peeling up later.

These are great!!! They stuck great to my uneven wood floors and you can’t almost not see them.

I bought these following my husbands fall down the stairs which resulted in a cracked collar bone and massive bruising. They work very well and are relatively invisible. The stairs are much safer now.

Fantastic, put on our wooden stairs to the loft room, these have always been very slippery and always had to wear shoes to climb. Did as advertised and stairs now much safer and can step on treads wearing socks

I purchased these for our main stairwell in the house following an auto accident that made it risky for my wife and I to have a fall from slipping. I loved the fact that these are transparent. Others looked so ridiculous for main stairs in the house. I liked the 4" depth as well as the near 38" length. I liked that it came with a roller to help it self-adhere. One difficulty that occurred was when I removed the backing. It started easily but if you do not pull the backing off all at the same time across the entire 4" width, it does tear easily. This made it time consuming at first because the bits that are left can be very difficult to remove. Once the backing is removed, the adhesive is, as others have reported, very powerful. I like that even though it will mean refinishing the stairs at some point. It is much cheaper to do that than to suffer a fall. I had a bit of a jig I made to tell me exactly where to line up each piece on each tread. I just marked a few places on the tread and worked it easily onto the wood. I smoothed it out with the roller and voila! It was down with a lot of adherence. We will see how it holds up. But it is fairly invisible and does the non-slip part really well. A very good product.
