Very good design with a very good build.

A nice model of a P-47 Thunderbolt. The model like all of the Postage stamp collection is mostly metal except for the propeller, bombs and stand on this aircraft model. The Thunderbolt was the first of Republic's Thunder based aircraft, which began with the Thunderbolt and ended with the Thunderchief. The Thunderbolt wasn't a light aircraft and weighed up to 17,500 lbs fully loaded. The Thunderbolt was a fighter-bomber and had a whooping 8 .50 cal machine guns and could carry up to 2,500 lbs of bombs. In Europe the Thunderbolt was an escort fighter for allied bombers as well as a ground attack aircraft. The Thunderbolt's powerplant was Pratt and Whitney's R-2800 Double Wasp which produced around 2,600 horsepower and let it reach speeds of up to 430 mph. Until the P-51 Mustang reached units in 1944 the Thunderbolt continued to escort bombers in Europe. At the end of the war Thunderbolt pilots accumulated 3,752 aerial victories for the loss of 3,499 Thunderbolts to all causes. Many aces flew the Thunderbolt including Francis S.Gabreski, Hubert Zemke and Robert S. Johnson.

Well i did recieve my scale model today but my box is all torn up dont know if it did fall but i like keeping my models in their box it keeps them neet but now this box it not looking good
