Russell Athletic Men's Basic Cotton T-Shirts

I have bought about a dozen or more of these in the last few years. You never know what you are going to get. I think this page is an aggregated vendor page and they all are selling their remaindered t-shirts of various qualities under one heading. Some of these last a good long time. Some hole-out with a few washes. Some don't shrink a bit and some let your belly button hang out in all it's glory. Some are thicker than others. Some fade harshly. All are inconsistent.Six to seven dollars is a good price for a RA shirt if you get a good one. Good luck.

My husband likes to wear comfortable shirts when he comes home from work and most of his were pretty worn out. He's a big guy and it's hard to find shirts that fit him without paying a lot of money. Basically, he just wanted some plain shirts for relaxing in at home or using for when he does yard work. I searched on here and found these in his size so we ordered one to see how he liked it.This shirt made by Russell is a pretty good quality shirt! It's made of 100% cotton so it's breathable and fairly comfortable. It felt a bit scratchy when we got it but I've washed it several times already and it's softening up nicely. This shirt is made in El Salvador. My husband is a fairly big guy and weighs about 350 pounds. He usually wears a 4XL so we ordered a 4XL in this shirt for him. It fits him very well. If he lifts his arms, his belly shows but this shirt also doesn't have the tall length. The length from the neckline to the bottom of the shirt is 29 inches in the front for the 4XL. I originally got him the navy shirt and he liked it enough that we also bought him the maroon and dark green colors. The only other color in his size was white at the time and I refuse to buy him white since he's also pretty messy.Overall, we are fairly happy with this shirt! My husband says they are comfortable and I feel they wash up nicely. Since they are 100% cotton (not pre-shrunk), they may shrink a bit but we haven't noticed too much shrinking. For the price, we are happy with these shirts and glad we found them! There aren't any pockets on them and they would be great for anyone who wants a basic, plain color shirt!

Always looking for big/tall tees that fit a large frame appropriately. Out of the package, fit great. One wash, now fits the me of 25 years ago. Shrinkage of more than 7 inches! What?????? Now it is a pretty rag. Big buyer beware!

I have Lands End lightweight t shirts as a baseline. They were by far the best fitting and softest t shirts I've worn. Unfortunately they're not offered any more and I've been looking for replacements.These Russell Athletics are cheaply made and are two sizes too small, I wear a Lands End XL comfortably. The Russell XXL fits like a Large.I do not recommend this t shirt.

I've been buying these basic tees for awhile now. Out of package was fine but after one washing it was all stretched out and out of shape. Unless it's tucked into shorts looks terrible. I don't tuck.... This is the first bad tee I've received from Russell /Amazon. Note the ID tag on this tee is sewn into the collar completely. All the others are just attached at the top. Maybe a different supplier. One thing for sure I will no longer purchase these tees. It's just a waste of money. Checked a second tee I received same day and it too is grossly malformed after just one wash. VERY POOR QUALITY.

There are a lot of cheap, lightweight stain seeking t's out there, but Russel is a solid manufacturer. I wear t's to sleep in, work in, everything...sometimes for days at a time. These Russell t's are heavier and more durable than most of what's out there, last longer, hold their color.

I purchased two Russell t-shirts at the same time -- a dark red/maroon one and an orange one. The orange one is soft and comfortable, fits well, and and is a very nice t-shirt. However, the dark red one appears to be a slightly different material and attracts fuzz and fur, which doesn't come off in the dryer -- it sticks like glue to the fabric. The cotton fabric of the red one is also rougher than the orange one. Obviously, your satisfaction with these shirts might be directly tied to which color you choose.

Update: After the first washing the shirt still looks new and has the same great fit. Looking at the construction - the seams are very well sewn with no loose threads or missed stitches.I like these shirts better than the "beefy" ones made by a different manufacturer. The shirts are "tagless" at the top of the shirt and the only minor complaint that I have is the stiff tag on the very inside bottom of the shirt. There is a tag which lists the fabric content and washing instructions. As the shirt is washed more the tag will get softer and if it still bothers me I will just cut it off.Shirt fits exactly as expected - the Amazon states it is 53% Polyester and 47% cotton but the tag on the shirt states it is 50/50. (no big deal). Only time will tell if the shirt shrinks (as some of my t-shirts from another manufacturer - and time will tell if the shirt holds its color.

Seems to have wider sleeves than normal but overall I like it. Wouldn't wear it in public though because of the sleeves which I like more on other shirts I found for cheap on amazon.

I can fit some L, most XL, and some XXL but this shirt was huge in an XL. I thought maybe I would keep it as a lazy/sleeping shirt, however it was really tight in the neck and arms. All around an uncomfortable shirt unless you are a very large man with a very thin neck and pretty small arms.

I was looking for a tight fit but after a couple washes it's pushing the limit. I am 5'9 155lbs and got a small. Wish I got a medium! Exactly the material and durability I was looking for in a gym shirt though. Will order another in medium size.
