Can the anti-slip tip be removed?

I would not recommend this product. Its very flimsy, and not sturdy. Yes, you can remove the tip even if you don’t intend to because It fell apart before I can use it for the 1st time Unfortunately, I did not inspect it or tried it out before the 30 day return as I did not try to u se it until after. Its garbage! But you get what you paid for. I would invest on a more expensive one.

Can I use weight bags filled with dirt or sand to hold these up?

I think you will need to use ropes.

How sturdy are these poles. I am trying to find a wind sturdy alternative on a shade for a sail boat. Gusty up to 25-30

While sailing or moored? No. The loles are strong, but that's gonna depend how secured. You have clamps on deck to hold these poles. These are not meant for ocean use
