Very cheap but functional spool gun
I bought this for my StaticArc MIG welder and it works a treat. It is very cheap and cheerful, the main gas/power connector onto the MIG welder isn't a good fit and wobbles somewhat even when tightened fully. The wire spool container lid doesn't fasten tightly but again it works okay. I don't intend to do a huge amount of aluminium welding but thought I'd have a go. I'm reasonably competent at mild steel MIG but have always wanted to try aluminium. I'm not posting an image of my work because it's a bit rubbish - first attempt it's always poor. The spool gun can be used for mild steel welding too and works fine but it's a bit heavy for prolonged steel welding due to the weight of steel wire spools. If you have a StaticArc MIG welder and fancy a go at aluminium welding give this a go but don't expect it to last for years. I would recommend for amateur welders. Be aware though, the GA-16 connector is only a two pin so wouldn't work with four pin machines.

Great torch
The only problems I have with this torch are the cover for the spool not locking in place and the exposed MIG wire between the spool and the gun, outside of this it has worked amazing and is the perfect torch for MIG aluminium welding.

Polarity Conscious
You need Argon for Aly welding, so it aint gasless. Initially I had the wire being pulled into the gun, so I had to rewire the two pin plug (of course it could of been the welder end!). But, once I started using it, it does work! It'll take some getting used to, the settings are critical for aly, but it welds aluminium. The plastic reel covering is a bit flimsy, but apart from that, easy to use and works OK.
