It Works and Prevents Damage to Seal
This item arrived in a sloppy package with a grease stain on the handle. It was obviously a returned and resold item. However, it makes removal of the spring much easier. IMHO, if one attempted this task using a screw driver to pry the spring off, it risks damaging the seal. Thus, I am keeping this tool for use in future repairs. As others have noted, the fit into the ends of the spring is not perfect, but it works.

I am very glad to find this product on Amazon. It was next day delivery and exactly when I needed it. Compared with cost in Oem/genuine parts this is a big relief. The product was packed nicely and it fulfilled the purpose. I was able reinstall the inner and outer springs successfully. Well worth it - Amazon to the rescue!
Bought this to help in replacing the door lock switch on our front load commercial coin operated LG washer. I also got the door lock switch here on Amazon too.Armed with both of these the whole job took about 10 minutes. Easy peasy.The repair service wanted $129 just as an initial trip charge. I got this whole job done for about $20, and now I have the tool.This was for our apartment building with tenants in the wait, so with Amazon next day delivery, the switch, the spring tool...yea, Amazon to the rescue!

Just buy it- this is 100% the easiest way to do it
Looking at some of the other reviews, I was a bit skeptical that it would fit. Ordered anyways and guess what? It worked perfectly. Before I ordered this tool, I had spent about 45 minutes trying to get the outer spring loaded hoop back on my LG washer with no success. Ordered this tool and once received, it literally took me the same amount of time to unwrap it as to get the spring loaded hoop back on. Picture included showing fit on an LG Washer. Totally worth the wait.
