Great e-bike upgrade for long rides
These grips works as designed and advertised! - On longer rides my wrists and overall grip get sore and uncomfortable. After swapping out my bikes standard grips with the Ergon grips I noticed on my very first ride that these definitely reduce the amount of pressure on your ands as more importantly your wrists. No more sore wrists and sore hands on longer rides!

It worked until it didn't
I installed these one month ago and loved the grips. A couple days ago, one of he grips began to slip. I have retightened it several times, used max torque, and even tried placing some tape under it, all to no avail. I wrote Ergon for a response. Their response: "Make sure the clamp end bolt is tightened to exactly 5 Nm with a torque wrench. Less than 5Nm and the grips will slip. More than 5Nm and you will compromise the clamp and the grips will also slip." I don't have a torque wrench, yet when I backed off the pressure, the grip actually improved. Lesson learner. Read the instructions.Last installment. So I tourqued the right grip to "exactly" 5nm. Still slipping. Ergon rep said I could return it and that they would decide from there. Instead, for $13 less, I bought the CyclingDeal grips which work great (and don't slip).

A good problem-solver grip, but be very careful while choosing model and size.
Unfortunately, what I received from Amazon was the incorrect model, and had to return it. But, I found the GP1 locally, for less than Amazon's price, and have been using them for a few weeks now. Prior to these grips, I was getting numb in my ring and pinky fingers on both hands, far worse on my left (as I still have lingering nerve damage from a 2007 injury). The grips themselves were easy enough to install, but as of yet I have not installed the end caps, as they are way too snug for the (standard sized) handlebar and don't even go in all the way. I am leaving them off for the time being, while I decide on a bike mirror. But still, these could be easier to work with.Adjusting the correct angle takes some trial and error, and even now I am not sure I have it done right. I now get numbness in the thumbs rather than the other fingers. Yet, my wrists are now at a more correct angle, and overall it is a more comfortable riding experience with these grips. I ordered the large size due to long fingers--I'm one of those that has trouble finding even extra large gloves never fit me properly.Overall I am glad I invested in these grips, and am looking at getting another set (in small) for another bike in the family.Mounting tip: there are two size options, small and large. Also, make very certain you select the correct model. In the GP1, there are three different shifter choices. The Regular model fits trigger shifters. The GripShift fits grip shifters. There is a third model (the one Amazon sent incorrectly) for a Rohloff® / Nexus® shifter setup. For grip shifters, however, you may or may not be able to use these grips without changing out the shifters. One of the family bikes is a Giant Sedona, which utilizes a wide SRAM grip shifter. The GripShift model is twice as long as the existing stationary grips, so they will never fit. There are other grip shifters that use the newer narrow configuration (which you can buy for under $20), or you can also switch to trigger shifters for ~$25 and use the Regular model GP1.Overall I am glad I purchased these, but I still have numbness. Whether further adjustment cures that remains to be seen. As for ordering on Amazon, be aware that they do not yet have the right product options available, not to mention third party sellers who cluelessly add the same products themselves and make no note of model or size. You're possibly better off buying these in person, where you can physically see the package markings.

Nice grips, good palm support!
The grips that came with my bike had a palm support but did not clamp onto the handlebars so they would rotate. I saw these, made the purchased, and installed them on my bike. They appear to be great quality and the locking clamp works as expected. They haven't moved since I put them on my bike. I would buy them again.

outstanding value
This product is so innovative and category-defining, I hesitate to call them "grips." That word accurately describes traditional accessories for preventing your hands from slipping off the handlebars. With that as their primary function, traditional "grips" do not properly cushion or support the riders' hands on the handlebars. The German engineers behind the Ergon - GP1 have created a product that expands the surface area where your hand supports your upper-body mass so that the weight is better distributed rather than concentrated in the narrow band of surface area found on traditional grips. I have only used these for a few days, but already I am ordering a second set for my other bike. I won't cheap-out and get the immitation Asian-produced products. These are best-of-class in material selection and design-- something I'm doubtful the cheaper offerings will match. For instance, notice that the clamp is on the end of the grip closest to the wide palm support. This is assumed to be the area under the most pressure as the flange would create leverage to try to twist the grips. Those Asian-produced grips put the clamp on the opposite end where there is less leverage, so I expect there will always be a little slippage and sloppiness in those designs. These Ergon - GP1 are manufactured in Germany and also feature 100% recyclable / compostable packaging. This is one of the top cycling accessories I have ever purchased.
