How does this umbrella block ultraviolet rays. I mean...how much UV can it block?

It blocks alot cuz i can feel temperature difference by 5/8 degrees when not under the umbrella

It says it can block 99.9% of uva. how much uvb can it block?

I bought this umbrella for my son and self 4.5 months ago. I use it regularly to keep safe from the sun. It does a pretty good job at protecting us from the strong and harmful rays. I’m quite satisfied with my purchase.

Does the umbrella have a strong chemical smell?

Yes, it has a terrible smell. Perhaps if it was left open for a while the smell would fade but I'm not going to test it out. I will be returning the umbrella. I have to say it appears to be good quality construction.
