Multilingual is multi-talented!!! We have a new English as a Second language program at the Elementary school, so we wanted a few books for our other students to use to learn how to communicate. or to use for fun!!!!

I'm a fluent Portuguese speaker, but don't live in a place where it's always spoken. Reading stories in this book is great practice, and I read them aloud from time to time. Very useful, and more engaging than the typical "this is a long list of grammar" books that have been so common. Really like this and the companion "easy" stories books. Finally! Perfect reading material for Portuguese learning.
I've been attempting to find decent reading material for a while as a student of the Portuguese language, and Intermediate Portuguese Short Stories was an excellent choice for me. A difficulty that went well with my intermediate grasp of the language, a nice list of vocabulary after each story, and the challenging Q&A sections make this book a must-have for anybody wishing to learn more about this Romance language spoken in around 15 countries.

Intermediate Brazilian Portuguese
It is a grest book to study and practice brazilian portuguese language. It has words, phrases, questions to practice and keep you busy. Very good!!!

Great book for advancing Portuguese learning
Love the topical short stories that expand your vocabulary beyond the normal. Right length for learning and difficulty to use without a lot of frustration.

Helpful, interesting stories in context
The first two stories were just like touristy dialogues but the rest were more interesting. It was good to have the vocabulary at the end of each story for review. Not every word in the story is in the lists--just a lot of the main words. This is not a book for an absolute beginner. If you already know some Portuguese, you can study this on your own to help your reading speed and comprehension. I used this along with the Lingo Mastery 2000 most frequent Portuguese words in context book. Once I had gotten through 2/3 of that book, these stories were comprehensible. I think a lot of people are using Duolingo + Lingo Mastery books to learn languages.

Trae historias muy interesantes, y puedes oir el audio mientras lo lees en el PDF escrito. Era exactamente lo que buscaba para mejorar mi comprension en el idioma. Los audios son muy claros, y sus historias son adecuadas para un nivel intermedio.

Recommendations
Very good book with plenty of words for intermediate students. After this book, my vocabulary improves substantially and understanding of common phrases in everyday speaking.

Great resource
I really rate this book. I like the clear format - the stories are a good length, and the level was just right for me. I liked the vocab listings at the end of each chapter - very helpful. I also liked the way that each chapter had a particular goal. It can be hard to find intermediate Portuguese material, which made this such a great find.

Good challenge level
My 13 year old son loves these as he is learning the language and finds them to be the perfect challenge to use and improve his skills as well as up his knowledge level
