This is just a regular white plastic and not super heavy duty. I thought it wasn't going to work and the whole thing was going to turn in place on the counter. I was totally wrong. It holds the weight of the cake easily, and the weight of the cake stabilized the base against the counter. The top rotates extremely easily. There are concentric circles on it to help you position your cake in the middle no matter what size it is. I really didn't want to spend a lot of money on this item because I only bake this kind of cake a few times a year. This was a really good choice!

I bought this cake turn table because I was going to attempt to make a homemade two layered birthday cake for my daughter. I purchased this one because of the mostly positive reviews and I'm glad I did! This turn table is so sturdy, I had no problem at all spinning it around to frost the cake. I did make a mess with the frosting when I was frosting it on the turn table (hey! I was pretending I knew what I was doing and thought I was some fancy cake Baker 🤣🙄) but all I had to do was grab a napkin and wipe it down. The turn table is super easy to clean! I had the cake on top of it when I decided it was a good idea to pick the whole turn table up to move the cake to it's new location once I was all done. It was not wobbly at all and was nice and sturdy. I'm so happy with this purchase and look forward to baking more cakes in the future. I feel like this turn table made it a lot easier for this first time cake baker to frost a cake! It's also a plus that it's a lot cheaper than other brands.

UPDATE - The seller reached out and offered a full refund, which was unexpected. Kuddos to their customer service department. It's an okay starter stand at best. It's not very sturdy and slides on the countertop. It was my first and it got my through, but I'm definitely going to up my game with a better quality product.

This rotating cake platter does its job well for baking cakes. It’s fairly sturdy, but I recommend storing it in its original box and avoiding putting any heavy weight on top. Overall, it works as expected.
