I purchased this device to rock hunt emberlight. Not only is it a great light, its durable and has an impressive use period. I usually carry a spare battery while I am walking the beach at night. I tend to rock hunt for 5-6 hours. I no longer carry a spare battery as the light has provided enough power to cover this amount of time. For all transparency, I use the light for about 5 hours, and turn it off while I take breaks. I recently borrowed the light to a newbie, who dropped it immediatly after I handed it to him. I replaced the battery, opened up the device and checked the connections, and it did not power back up. I contact support to ask how much it would cost for warranty repair, and to my surprise, they are sending me a new light! Rarely do I have this experience! Exceptional customer service! I have roughly 2K in UV lights and never have I had such exceptional service!

I bought this light for my husband and we read all reviews. He had one of the little lights and wanted a bigger one. Shipping was fast. He got the light and had an issue with it. It was turning off within 5 minutes of being on.I contacted the company by email and got a quick response. They asked for some information and said that they were going to send another light right away. It will be here today. I highly recommend this company and their products. Sure there’s going to be some faults in any products. This company will make sure you are getting what they advertised and the customer service is excellent. When I received the Beast I was super excited. Unfortunately during shipping the unit was damaged and wouldn't work as it should. I reached out to the seller and they got back to me immediately (always a concern) and they were a pleasure to work with. They sent out the replacement and it arrived next day working perfectly as expected. The light is next level in power and perfect to use for rock hounding and IDing minerals and stone formations. I'm sure that I will find other uses as well after walking around my house and seeing things in a different light, no pun intended.I had used smaller cheaper versions without much success, the uvBeast V3 365nm really opened my eyes to the true power of UV and I know it will do the same to you. This is real Ultra Violet with a controlled wave length that will light up what others don't.I am 100% sold on this product and their customer support is the best in every way. This is a company I will do business with again and knowing if there ever is a problem they will make it right immediately and that is an added value that is as important as the product itself to me. Insanely intense. Think of those LED Mag-lite's in terms of radiation intensity, but in the 365nm UV range. Compared to the cheaper (1/3-1/2 the cost) 385nm units this light has a very intense center spot-like beam (versus the more narrow-flood of a standard UV flashlight) and really brings out the contrast of any flourescent materials by being much less visible in the background.One thing I noted: this flashlight gets very hot after a few minutes, even with that decent heat sink designed into the head. Checking it with a photospectrometer, I found that it irradiates a massive 820 µMols of iR (think REALLY bright spotlight, but in the infrared range) at 12"--if this was visible spectrum, it would measure approximately 47,000lux. You can feel it, a very distinct beam of warmth when shining the light on the inside of your wrist from a foot away. So if your application needs UV but must remain at cold temperatures at close distances, this may not be the flashlight for you.Aside from the heat issue, this is a well-built and very intense UV flashlight. I'm shining it on everything. Even in a normal day-lit indoor room I can still see fluorescence in objects. This uses removeable lithium ion (18650 button-head) batteries. The unit includes two batteries, a charger and an extension tube so a third 18650 (not included) battery can be added.Interestingly, in the interest of answering "is it any brighter with the third battery installed" I ran the spectrometer several times each with two and three batteries. I noted a REDUCTION in intensity by about 3% when running on 3 batteries (guessing there's some inefficiency in voltage conversion from 11.1v down the the unit's 7.4v operating voltage). So you're trading another 50% runtime for a very slight (not noticeable to the eye) drop in illumination intensity.Highly recommended if you can afford its price tag. This is one tick shy of a full lab-grade unit at a quarter the price.
