A must have
I purchased this edition for my boyfriend who loves the G.O.T show and the A.S.O.I&F books. This is, in my opinion, the best version of the books, and I have the leather bound set which is also nice. I liked it so much I bought another one for myself. I just hope they continue this edition for books 4 & 5🤞

Love the quality
The hardcover came in great shape. Second time around reading the story, I really enjoyed the pictures included in this version.

Don’t let the reviews fool you
Not as great as A Game of Thrones, but just as nice as A Clash of Kings. Great book!

The art is actually quite good
So a lot of the dissatisfied reviews are about how they dislike the art which illustrates this edition. While it is different from the first and second volumes, it is actually much more consistent as it's all done by a single artist. And in this case it's done in the style of comic book penciling. And the models are based upon the HBO series. With that in mind, I thought it was a really nice set of illustrations and I am very pleased with it. The only thing I take issue with is the novel idea of the first American printing of an edition being made in China. I did not buy this for any reason other than my personal love of full size hardcovers and since I never sell them, their value is not measured in dollars but instead my enjoyment. OK yeah I haven't read this edition yet but I did look at all the pictures and know the novel in and out and am happy to have a hardcover that didn't set me back a couple of car payments. Gary Gianni is clearly a modern day Bernie Wrightson, so if that's not your thing ok sorry but I would much rather have great pencil and ink pages than that garish Wizards of the Coast nonsense they put in the Game of Thrones edition. Anyway, Gary Gianni did a great job and if you like classic penciling and the HBO series there is not a good reason to avoid this edition. It also weighs enough to hold your door open. For me this was a nice purchase and I enjoy the consistency in the art. As mentioned above the only weird part is the Chinese printing plant. This edition is not going to be worth anything so just buy it if you love the book and want to get some workout reading it. It's heavy!
