A Hunger So Wild: A Renegade Angels Novel

Oh wow! A Hunger So Wild is the second book in the Renegade Angel series. And it follows right from where the first book, A Touch of Crimson - Adrian & Lindsays' story, finishes at. This is Elijah & Vashti's story. If you havent read the first book, you must, because you're missing out on all the character & storyline developments to begin with. A Hunger so Wild begins in the wake of the Lycan revolution and a viral outbreak among the vampire minions that puts the Sentinel (angels) in a vulnerable position. Their security has been breached leaving a series of betrayal among all 3 clans. Syre, the leader of the Fallen (vampires) takes advantage of the sentinels vulnerability and sends Vashti, his second-in-command to conduct an allegiance with the Lycans. Despite her hatred for the 'dogs' she obeys her commander and meets with the Alpha of the Lycans, Elijah, whom she suspects is the murderer of her friend. Elijah, the most dominant of lycans (and one of Adrians most loyal subjects), has been forced to take upon the position as the Alpha of the Lycans despite the consequences he may face from the sentinels. Vashti, the second most powerful vampire surprisingly discovers that Elijah happens to be her equal that she never thought she would encounter after losing her mate in the past. Their sexual desires for each other soon develops much deeper than they thought that it conflicts with their loyalty for their own kind. Until they can no longer resist each other they have to come to an agreement that will keep them bound together forever. This book had me hooked from page 1. There's so much more I want to say in this review but I dont want to spoil it for anyone. Im disappointed that it had to end. I just cant get enough of this series that I just want more more more!! And unfortunately I have to suffer and wait the many months for the 3rd book to come. Sylvia is now officially my most favorite Author. Every single book I have read so far of hers (the crossfire novels as well) has had me in love with her writing. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that loves paranormal books with HOT SEXY ALPHA HEROES & HEROINES.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and a great continuation of the series. I had one of those moments where I had to put the book down and walk away for a bit because I was feeling for the characters too much. I very much liked that we got snippets of the previous books/characters to show how the stories are becoming intertwined. I look forward to the next one. Favorite line: "Your boob is ringing."

Totally dipped in awesome sauce! I didn't think I could enjoy book 2 as much as I enjoyed book one, but was I wrong! I already loved Elijah,and the thought of him and Vashti was not to my liking at all.....well that was before I started reading. I loved the storyline, loved the way it was written, loved the characters(even the bad ones....who maybe aren't so bad anymore) loved the sexual chemistry and loved that we still got some Adrian and Lindsay as well. Wonderfully entertaining, you just can't stop turning pages. When I reached the end I kept trying to turn the page, it just couldn't end there!!! But it did and now I'm impatiently awaiting book 3! Great read, thoroughly enjoyed. Totally team Elijah & Vashti!! Yummyliscious!!!

A Hunger So Wild is the second installment in Sylvia Day's Renegade Angels Trilogy. And what a wild ride it was. We begin at the end of A Touch of Crimson where we the development of a viral strain affecting Vampires. We get a better look, understanding and feel between the relationships of Adrian and Lindsay, Lindsay and Elijah, Elijah and Vashti, Vashti and Syre and even Syre an Lindsay. We also see a pattern in what we are realizing there is a conspiracy happening between the supernatural worlds of the Sentinal Angels, Lycans and Vampires. We learn of about a number of betrayals in all three groups. This book involves Lycan Alpha Elijah and Vampire Beta Vashti. I wasn't sure I would have liked the pairing of both Elijah and Vashti. But being that Elijah is a powerful Alpha it would only make sense that he would need a strong heroine. Elijah and Vash's relationship works and works well. Both are strong willed and both learn to work together to get things done. Elijah is sexy, funny, warm and honorable. Vashti is a kick ass female Vampress who is dangerous in her own right. Even though the Vampires and Lycan's don't get along, the chemistry between Elijah and Vashti is powerful and sensual. The hunger between them was HOT. Very sexy and very carnal. They each have their own baggage and hatreds of each other but in the end the hunger for each other proves too strong to deny and they learn that they are stronger working together than at opposite ends.

I do love this book I love this world that was built by the author this is my third time reading this book I have read the other books pertaining to the series and they are intriguing unfortunately the story does not have an ending the third book was promised in 2013 it is now October 2016 I still have no closure and there doesn't seem to be a book in sight it's as its authors just forgotten that this series was actually very good. I was very dedicated looking for the next book year after year. I've given up I reread this book today because I love the Chemistry Between the hero and the heroine this book in particular really draws me in and can I just say their first time together is off-the-charts hot. I really wish I could have finished the series, or at least figured out where the story went from the point that it left off. I'm extremely unhappy with this author the Publishers or whatever reason that she has or they have for not continuing this series. I have not even attempted to read her other books and I won't if she was to come out with the conclusion to this series yes I would pick it up I would buy it. But otherwise I can't recommend this book because there's no ending

I enjoy Sylvia Day's writing a lot. The stories are quite often delicious, the chemistry between H and h sizzling but...well, I almost feel guilty for saying it, but all her books are pretty interchangeable. Nothing really stands out from the crowd of similar paranormal writers. They are all good writers with good stories that I enjoy while I read them, but I've recently become aware just how same same it all is and how tired I am of that. I read this book about a month ago and last week I went to buy it again because I forgot it completely... I guess that really tells it all..? Still - if you don't mind the lack of originality, it IS a great read and you WILL enjoy it. I'm just a little worn out by the publishing industry that doesn't take any risks any more and just churns out more of stuff that is tried and safe.

Love the book but there is no ending since the series is in legal issues with the publisher

I don't begrudge anyone the right to earn a living, but I am really starting to hate book series. About the time I thought I might get to the conclusion of the Renegade Angels story, I find that there is yet another installment that is not yet released. I didn't even realize that this story wasn't concluding until I turned the page on my Kindle and was greeted with "Please enjoy this excerpt from the next Renegade Angels novel, coming soon..." Argh! If you read my review of the first book in the series, A Touch of Crimson, I commented that the story was pretty good, but that I felt that it was bloated with too many "species" and too much internal musing over guilt, vengeance and redemption. The good news is that A Hunger So Wild, what I now know is the second installment seems to be more focused and the mysterious central plot element seems more clearly defined and less confusing than in the first installment. I also found the main characters of this installment, the Fallen Angel Vashti and the Lycan Elijah to be stronger and more compelling characters. That said, I was annoyed that the story is being drug out to a THIRD installment. Be advised also that this book would NOT do well as a stand alone read. You are probably thinking that my comments make the case for a book series as opposed to a stand alone novel. Perhaps they do, but what I really long for is a complete story in a single book. Why do book series seem to be more and more popular? Is it because Sylvia Day and authors like her don't have the stamina or ongoing imagination to write a complete work of some length a la Stephen King, Elizabeth Strout, or Gillian Flynn, to name just a few? I don't think so. The stories are often purposely bloated to generate a publishable work of about 300 pages and to generate more income. What we end up with is the literary equivalent of fast food: books that temporarily filling, but ultimately unsatisfying. Read at your own risk.

This is the second book in the Renegade Angels series. The story picks up right after the events in book 1. The lycans have revolted against the Sentinels with Elijah as their new leader. Seeing this as an opportunity, Syre sends his second-in-command Vashti to set up an alliance. Both Elijah and Vashti have their own agenda in this alliance. However, with their undeniable connection and attraction towards each other, they start to wonder if there is more to their new found relationship. Well, to summarize this book in one phrase-my enemy's enemy is my friend. For those who have read book 1, there is a brief mention of Vashti and Elijah's first encounter. This book kind of continues with this "fatal attraction". Sylvia has put together the most impossible alliance. From book 1, we know that lycans are trained to hate and hunt vampires. The lycans were once fallen angels but they accepted the option given by the Sentinels, who then infused them with demon blood without losing their souls like the vampires. Hence the lycans are seen as traitors to the fallen. And due to some misunderstanding, Vashti and Elijah both have scores to settle against each other. Given all these circumstances, the interaction and chemistry between the two make a very good read. Sylvia did a good job in portraying Elijah, with both man and wild beast side to him. We did not see much of his character in book 1 as he was still working for the Sentinels. In this book, however, you do get to know this reluctant alpha. Vashti, on the other hand, is the warrior princess with her leather suit and katana sword. She is kind of a cross of Selene (Underworld)/Bride(Kill Bill)/Lara Croft, an indeed very interesting and memorable creation of Sylvia in this series. The prologue which tells you the backstory of Vashti is well written, a very vulnerable image that we've not seen before, a big contrast to the image we have so far and certainly explains how she become what she is at present. Unlike the story of Adrian and Lindsay, they are both very dominant characters and their attraction is very raw. It's good to see how their relationship evolves throughout the book. They start off being enemies forced to work together to gradually getting to know each other and fall in love. There are definitely some funny dialogs and steamy scenes that everyone will enjoy. Apart from the romance between Elijah and Vashti being the main part of the book, we get to find out about Lindsay and Adrian's new relationship and how they handle it with Lindsay's new situation as a vampire. I also quite like the conversation Syre had with Lindsay and he still tries to maintain this sire bond with Lindsay despite being on the other side of the battlefield. On the other hand, we get to out more about the vampire hierarchy and their search for the source of the wraith virus with the help of lycans. The plot has definitely thickens. There is a conversation within the book (kind of half way through, you know when you get to it) which suggests both the vampires and Sentinels have traitors within their team. Also, somehow Charron(Vashti's mate)'s death is related to this whole plot of stirring up the conflict between the two species. If you enjoy the first book, you will certainly enjoy this second one, which I think is even better with stronger characters and exciting and action-packed storyline that you can get hooked to so easily. I really can't wait for the next book to come out!

Wish the third novel would come out as we are left hanging not knowing what truly happens to everyone ..... :( kind of disappointing had I known the 3rd novel was is MIA I would not have bought and read these two even though they were really great reads I just dont like that feeling of wanting to read more and never knowing when its coming lol...

I felt there was potential for more books in this series that have not been written. Would like more if the author feels so moved.

I liked the first book in the Renegade Angel series, and I loved this, mainly because all the characters (Angels, Vampires and Lycains) are good and bad there are no vampire against angel or wolf against vampire etc, although some of the characters have reasons for disliking each others groups they all have a point of view that you can get on board with, I loved Vash and Elijah in the first book and you get to see more of them here and thankfuly they are still fab, my only moan is with the publishers why oh why cant you bring out the kindle version at the same time I have book one on kindle and have had to buy the paperback for book 2 as I have waited and no sign of it, even though it was going to be released then it was pulled, after me buying it Amazon did put the page up for pre-odering on August 28th, (typical) thats annoying for me as I like to keep my series together, I wont buy this twice as I wonder if thats the publishers hook here, so while I will be reading book three as this is looking like a great series, I will wait to see if a kindle version is released, this series reminds me of Nalini Singh's Angel Archangel series, and Psy-Changeling series it has lots of action great characters that as you get to know you wonder about their stories and a heap of hot romance really enjoyed both books hope book three ( Syre's book) will be as good ( I love him so I think it will), I would 100% read book one first as lots happend in that one that has meaning in this one, I'll try to give a breif description but there is lots of action and I dont want to give too much away but here goes.... Vashti (Vash) is a fallen angel who was punished for falling in love and transformed into a vampire. she was happy, until the love of her life was killed by lycans, she swore to find his killers and get revenge. behind her mask Vash feels lost and alone and doesn't ever sleep as she hates her nightmares so she fights for Syre and looks for the killers of her previous mate. when the deadly disease from book one continies to kill Vampires after sending them feral first, Syre sends Vash to meet with the leader of the Lycans Elijah,the wolves left the Angels at the end of book one for freedom, they were tired of being forced to fight with the angles, they made Elijah leader as he was a natural Alpha wolf, Syre realizes he needs the lycans to help him find the cure for his vampires and the fight against the angels he knows they left everything behind and with both groups working together they will be a stronger force against the Angels.Vash grudgingly agrees to go and meet Elijah even though they hate each other as Vash killed Elijah's best friend while looking for Elijah as Vash thought he killed her best friend Nicki who was also Syres daughter in law, Vash finds out in book one Elijah was framed but the damage had already been done. Elijah has been trying to keep his group of wolves alive and together. when he realises that the vampires need his help, he uses that for his wolves needs. But when Vashti and Elijah meet they are shocked by the immediate attraction they both feel. but Vash makes a deal with Elijah her life for the name of the lycans who killed her lover. But all is not what is seems when Elijah starts to look. And they uncover a plot that is meant to destroy both of their groups. I loved that the action starts from the first page in both these books .Syre is still my favorite character He is sexy likeable and has a softer side I loved the bit with him and Lyndsey, great to see the angels and Lyndsey back too this is looking like it going to be a great series cant wait for book three!

It's a book and she read it front to back! It must have been good.
