is this (Solar D Gems) plant derived or animal derived?

Ingredients are Cod Liver Oil & natural oil flavor. As far as I can ascertain there is nothing derived from plants. However, the shell consists of beef gelatin, glycerin and water. I have been taking this brand for at least four years. See my earlier reply to someone in 2012. My blood tests show 50 of whatever is the measurement and has been consistent for all years. I take 2000 IUs a day. When it is less than than I will look for a different product.

Product description says 2000 iu, picture shows 4000 iu. which is it?

Product description is correct. When I ordered Carlson Solar D Gems I did not notice the 4000 iu as seen on the bottle photo versus 2000 iu in the product description. I bought the product based on the description and was pleased to get exactly that. I hope this helps you. :-)

How large is this pill?

About 1/2 inch long and 3/8 wide. Not very big and it's easy to swallow.

About 10 years ago I started to lose my hair. A nutritionist told me to take Saw Palmetto, standardized 160mg of the active ingredient. It worked. My hair loss stopped and it started to grow back.
