Fixed my speed issues
Been looking for an update since my old router wasn't cutting it. Switched to fiber and the previous router was barley hitting 100mbps. Switched the modem and contacted the internet company and couldnt figure out the issue. Decided to buy a higher quality router and this made a huge difference in my speed. My Ring cameras that use to have connectivity issues dont have that issue anymore. The Wifi range is very far compared to the old one I have. App is easy to use and makes restarting and adjusting settings on the router much faster and easier.

BUY IT !!!
Best router I've ever worked with and there have been plenty. One really great feature is the built-in OpenVPN client that allows me to connect to my Windscribe VPN servers, thus protecting everything on my WiFi network, but even that is not an all or non option. You can select which devices on your local network will go through the OpenVPN connection. So, I was able to leave my laptop out of that connection, allowing me to use my Windscribe PC client separately, so my laptop can switch VPN servers easily without having to go mess around with the router configs. Everything about this router is user friendly without a college degree in networking. You'll love it!!! Windscribe+Asus RT AX300 is a great combination and highly recommend both for the best in WiFi peace of mind.

Not a bad modem
The main reason for purchasing this router was to improve connectivity as our TV would often drop while streaming on the old router (model 1750).Received router, opened and set up. Router came with everything needed (cable and method to download app). The four antennas were a breeze to arrange. Unit is light weight and more compact than the older router it replaced.Internet speed from cable modem to router is +/- 607 Mbps. Performance testing was conducted after updating both laptop and router firmware (3.0.0.4.388_25139). Tests were conducted using a gaming laptop sitting three (3) feet from the router and at the same height. Protocols were Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) for 5G and Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) for 2.4G. The results shown are the fastest speed obtained from three consecutive tests. A test was also conducted using a new gaming PC hardwired directly into modem and is shown at right.TEST WEBSITE 5G Band (Mbps) 2.4G Band PC hardwired to cable modemfast.com 410 100 470speedtest.net 474 104 607sparklight.com (Provider) 446 105 607First impressions (not based upon testing): This router is more stable than the model AC1750 it is replacing based TV not dropping (except when modem was intentionally reset). The ping seen by computer seems slightly better - but this is an impression not verified by testing. Visually the router sits unpretentiously in its place and has small but easily visible indicator lights.Summary: Setup was slightly more difficult than the older modem (model AC1750) it is replacing. Router has an App (which is nice) but it far less intuitive than the software for the AC1750. Asus does request PIA (i.e. birthdate and phone and email addresses) to register the product. Wireless speeds are slightly below hopes. First impression is that router does seem more stable than the old router it is replacing. The router also includes security features such as VPN (to be setup in the future and part of why this unit was chosen.)Overall rating: RECOMMENDED.

Router to get For Control BDV
PROS: Fast, Thrifty Price, Easy fast reboot, Logs for both network wired and wireless connections. Helped me identify why my paperwhite 7th gen kindle was loosing battery so fast. WiFi and wired connections are super fast. AI to help with router management is nice. Really like that interface to router is not a pay for subscription like some other router companies.CONS: Could have a smidge stronger signal, but both 5GHZ and 2.4GHZ work fine in my house. Will not take as long passwords as my bricked nighthawk did, also have to use the same password for both wireless channels.Yes I'd buy this again and recommend to friend. Especially since it has dropped $20 since I purchased it only a few months ago BDVUPDATE: 5/4/2025 I'm still liking this router. My only complaint so far is that the router does not clearly identify attacks against it. There are days that it is lagging and a reset fixes the problem, I don't blame the router but my poor internet provider that offers zero protection from router attacks. That said today I finally found the way to set my router up to reboot daily, this should improve my performance as I won't have to remember to do so daily. It would be nice if there was a PDF available with all the configurations explained for this router as there ar plenty. It isn't like love this router. True test will be this summer as Heat and Routers do not mix well. Time will tell.

The router has exceptional range, signal strength and is very easy to set up.
The router has exceptional range, signal strength and is very easy to set up.My older gigabit mimo router was starting to drop streaming connections and the 5g network was beginning to throw errors when trying to connect so I decided to upgrade to the ASUS AX3000 and am glad I did.Although the router has extendable AiMesh capability, I don't need it even in a 4,000 square foot home. The signal strength is excellent from end-to-end, top-to-bottom and holds connections even with five streaming and gaming devices connected. Finally, my connection speeds are much faster and I'm now getting full advantage of my internet connection.
