#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan brings the love story of Skyler and Dimitri to vivid life in this breathtaking, seductive entry in her dark Carpathian series. He is Carpathian. Ancient and unassailable. She is human. Young and vulnerable. Without her, he will not survive. Caught between two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free and humans safe. He has survived honorably when others have chosen to give up their souls. Now, marked for extermination by the Lycans, Dimitri finds himself alone, and fearing for his life. But salvation is coming... No Lycan would ever suspect someone like Skyler to dare mount a secret rescue operation. A teenage girl. A human of untested abilities. But she has something no one else does. She is predestined for Dimitri—as he is for her. And there is nothing stronger for Skyler than her desire to see her life-dream come true. Whatever the risk. INCLUDES BONUS CONTENT! Review: Dark Wolf Review - The twenty-fifth book in the Dark series is an action packed and intriguing read. Human and vulnerable, Skylar Daratrazanoff, has always recognized the miracle that is the ancient hunter, Dimitri Tirunul, a carparthian who has been marked for death by the Lycans. As his destined lifemate, Skylar has the ability to find where the Lycans have imprisoned him and of course they would never suspect a young teenage girl to attempt to rescue the ancient guardian. This fast plot keeps the readers on the edge of their seat with lots of action and suspense. The author brings the story to life with vivid descriptions that make the reader feel as if they are part of the story and the wonderful and compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention. The attraction between Skylar and Dimitri is red hot and sizzling and the sex scenes are scorching hot, but the relationship between them is one made of legends in this world. Dimitri has lived with the darkness for centuries waiting for the chance to claim his lifemate, but he waited and was very patient with the young Skylar. He loved and protected her from a distance to give her the time she needed to be able to accept him as her mate. Skylar gives new meaning to the words overcoming adversity she beat all the odds and survived a horrific past to become a strong and worthy mate for such a warrior. The author created this mesmerizing world of vampires that has evolved to be so much more, it is believable and just keeps getting more and more intriguing. I love all the wonderful characters and stories in the series so far and I love how all the characters remain a part of every story and conflict. The author manages to impart information in the stories that give the reader’s hints of what has been happening to each character personally so that they can stay up to date. Skylar and Dimitri’s story is one I have been waiting impatiently to read and I have to say that it is one of my favorites of the series. As always I will wait impatiently for the next one. Review: Ms. Feehan is Back - I pre-ordered this book and after I received it I didn't read it for a few weeks. I did however, read the reviews and they were all over the place. Someone-who hadn't read the book-wrote a review based solely on the reviews she read here which IMO she should take down. Based on what she wrote I assume she doesn't plan to read the book. Everyone follows a series for different reasons and we all expect them to go a certain way. Sometimes we have thought so much about what we WANT to happen that we forget that isn't our decision and therefore we are disappointed when a book is released and doesn't live up to "our" expectations. Personally I find it hard to be too critical of anyone who can write a story first, because I CANNOT write anything anyone else would want to read and secondly authors really put themselves out there and some of the reviews are scathing. I don't think I would have the courage to write another book based on reviews I have read on this site and others. This is the second book of a trilogy featuring the women in the Dragonseeker line-Tatiana, Skylar and Bronnie. This is Skylar's and Dimitri's story and also a continuation of Fen and Tatiana. I thought Skylar was totally awesome. She was determined to save her lifemate no matter the cost to her or how afraid she was. With Dimitri's help she has overcome her horrific childhood and has become a young women who is still learning about her family and abilities. Dimitri was a strong character as well. He was patient with Skylar while she matured and came to terms with her past and finally accepted her mage heritage. I thought their story portrayed how special their relationship was and how it had developed over the years. Did this book set up Zev's and Bronnie's story absolutely. In fact if you think about it each book in the series has been a "setup" for future characters and books. The last book of the trilogy will bring everything together and we will learn how these individuals will forever change the Carpathian people. Also, several books ago Ms. Feehan hinted that a secret society (the one that trapped and imprisoned Jacque) was imprisoning psychic women against their will and performing experiments. There was a small reference in this book about finding these women and rescuing them. We also were introduced to 4 brothers we hadn't heard much about. I am especially interested to read Andre's (the ghost) story. I am looking forward to more books in this series-the Carpathians will always be a must read for me.

One of my favorite Authors, one of my favorite Series.
And as such, I'll admit that it's hard for me to be objective. I greatly enjoyed this book, and it was hard NOT to give it 5 Stars. This series should be read in order. This series has adult sexual content. This particular book (although 25th in the series), is the second of three books--and is actually a sub plot within the main series which highlights Lycans, mixed bloods, and the new hybrid Vampire/Rogue Lycan evil. Fans of this series have been waiting a long time for Dimitri and Skyler's romance to progress to Lifemate status. Because of that long wait, I was hoping that most of this awaited book would concentrate more heavily on that scenario. But since we're not the writer, we don't always get what we want. The potential for War with the Lycan species took up a lot of this installment. The chanting, spells, and translations took up a lot. And, at 85% on my Kindle, the usual glossary of words, chants, etc as well as the excerpt for the next book took up the rest. Skyler's troubled past that should have caused more issues with her physical sexual life seemed glossed over and rushed. I haven't been as thrilled with the sexual scenes as I have been in the past. I think that the returning characters that we've grown to love haven't been acting like they should (especially the Carpathian Prince). And sometimes it seems like the Author misses some of her focus with the plot. That being said, I enjoyed this book immensely. I will be reading this series as long as Ms. Feehan chooses to write it. This long running series is an example of how a writer can be good enough to create something that can hook a reader into coming back again and again. She keeps bringing in fresh ideas and gives us back old favorite characters--yet still creates new characters and interesting plot variations. 4-1/2 Stars.

Beautifully Written Love Story
Dark Wolf was the book we all have been waiting for. Since Dark Celebration I think every avid reader of the series was waiting for and looking forward to Skyler and Dimitri. I know I certainly was. Some have said this book was a disappointment or a let down and I can definitely see how some can say that; however, I found this story amazing and beautiful none the less. I think all of us readers were expecting Skyler to be a little more like Syndil when it came to sex. There are moments for Skyler when she is that scarred child again who has to live through her horrors, but Dimitri is her Lifemate and sees her through them with love and patience. I think Mrs. Feehan did the perfect job with Skyler, she has known Dimitri was her lifemate since she was 16 and while she has been unclaimed, she and Dimitri have formed their own relationship through the years. We didn't get to see it on a day by day basis and I think that was good. We as reader have gotten little glimpses of their growing relationship in other books to let you know their progress. If Mrs. Feehan would have done a book with a day by day of their growing relationship it would have had no depth to it. This way we were able to see Skyler, who started out as a broken child, emerge into a woman of power. We don't need all of the in between on how she got their exactly, this book does a phenomenal job of giving you all of the information needed to see how she has grown into this fierce woman. I absolutely loved that Josef and Paul were in this book and played a large role in it. This book was a true love story that shows from the first page. Love of friends, love of family, and most of love of a Lifemate. I think Mrs. Feehan did a perfect job with this book and I will definitely be rereading it again in the future.

One of Ms Feehan's Best!!
Dark Wolf is one of those books that fulfills a promise. We all fell in love with Skylar and Dimitri back when Skylar was just a child. We knew even before she was with Dimitri that she would fall for someone with an affinity for wolves, way back in Legend. Skylar was a child and Ms Feehan had to wait. Writing a story for someone of that age was just wrong. Over time we have watched Skylar grow up. We watched her meet her Lifemate and realize that there was still to wide of a gap for them. But over time they have overcome. Now Skylar is an adult (ok 19) but she has lived a dark life and is old for her age. She knows that Dimitri is in trouble and feels that no one is doing anything about it.. So in typical I am an adult and can do anything fashion (that attitude that only those between 18 and 22 truly have) she sets off to save him. Taking only her two best friends with her.. Sure it's unrealistic, if the greatest Carpathians out there can't do anything how can three young adults? One full Carpathian, One mutt (I refuse to call Skylar "only human" she has every bloodline possible in her) and one full human. Their plan? Simple enough, find Dimitri and use their ages against the enemy. Who would suspect these three of anything? Actually a pretty good idea. There was some great humor in this book, Josef remains a favorite and will eventually become an outstanding Adult Carpathian. And his antics brought great comic relief. Dimitri has over time become more than Carpathian he has become a hybrid of sorts. Neither wolf nor Carpathian but a combination of the two. Neither lineage is dominate so he remains two separate beings. A being that has been condemned by the wolf shifters. He has been captured and sentenced to death by silver. A form of torture that in some way manages to convince the wolf nation that he killed himself. Wrap someone up in silver, including finding a way to introduce it slowly into their system, then every time they move the silver slowly seeps towards their hearts. So it's their fault they die. He is alone and no one can find him.. But Skylar reaches out and connects. Here's the thing.. this is a great book. I loved it BUT there were some things that bothered me. First off.. Skylar is considered a human and is 19. That is NOT a child in the human world. It is an adult. To constantly belittle her age.. Gregori's comment when asked about Skylar.. "She is just a child" said with a rather dismissing attitude. Hello.. Gregori connected with Savannah at EIGHTEEN.. and mated with her at 23. Which IS a child in the Carpathian world. A mere infant.. so seriously? Second.. Josef and Savannah are about the same age and yet Savannah is this Lifemate and Mother and Josef still considered a useless child. I am glad that Ms Feehan gave him such an important part in this book. Maybe smack some sense into the Carp world. Third.. Why does Ms Feehan insist on making every new hero and heroine MORE.. more powerful? It's not that they can't all be alpha males it's that with each book a new kitchen sink is tossed in. Fourth.. where was Dominic? This entire mini trilogy is about the Dragonseekers, Bronnie, Tatijana and Skylar.. so where is Dominic? Fifth... Why aren't Ivory and Natayla being used more? These two women are both powerful mages.. Those are my questions, the things that bothered me BUT I still insist that this was a fabulous book. So far both books in this trilogy within the series takes us back to some of Ms Feehan's best work. One of the things she has done right is start a new arc with a new villain and I don't mean the wolves. There is someone or something running the show and the wolves are not at the top of the food chain. Watching this story arc develop is going to be good!!! Shauni

Another Great Book In The Series!
Skyler is human and just nineteen years old and she knows that she is the destined lifemate to Dimitri but her parents think she is still too young to be mated to him. Skyler has emotional scars that prevent her from believing she will be a good lifemate to Dimitri when it comes to a physical relationship but he's been gentle and caring and hasn't pushed her at all since they found each other. Skyler is frustrated when no one else seems to be able to find Dimitri and rescue him so she does the only thing she can think of, she asks her two best friends to help her rescue her lifemate. This is book 25 in the Carpathian series. This is the very first series that I ever started reading. I've been reading this series for years and years and am a huge fan so I was so thrilled to be able to review this book. This book was a little different than previous books in that not only are there Carpathians but also Lycans. The fight scenes between the Lycans and Carpathians were phenomenal, there's just enough action without going overboard with it. I was surprised that Skyler turned out to be such a strong heroine, but I like it when the women in books can take care of themselves and kick a little ass along side their Alpha-Male counterparts. I really liked that we get a glimpse into some of the characters from previous books that we haven't seen in a while. I have loved the characters in this series and really like it when they are brought back in newer books so we can see what they have been up to. The interaction amongst the Carpathians was wonderful in this book and I'm glad that so many of them came to help out Skyler when she needed it. If you're a fan of Christine Feehan's Dark series, then this is a must read. If however you are a new reader to this series, I would suggest starting with the first book. Set aside about a month of not going outside, not talking to family and friends while stopping just long enough to eat and drink something and read the entire series because once you start, you aren't going to want to put the books down. Well worth the Wait...
As I read all the other reviews, it amazed me that we have been waiting for this book since 2006. Time flies when you are waiting for Christine Feehan books!!! As has been said, this is a LONG awaited book. When so many have waited so long and have had soooo many discussions on the why, where and how Skyler and Dimitri should get together, the possibility of disappointment loomed large for this story. While I am sure many will have their favorite nitpicky things they don't like about this book I for one, found it Absolutely Amazing with compulsions built in to finish without food, water or bathroom breaks !!! Skyler had a rough beginning, abused in the worst ways. I worried how she would get past that. Christine in her infinite wisdom kept telling us she was too young to be mated. This story is awesome because she did wait!! Since Skyler and Dimitri met back in Dark Celebration, they have been quietly getting to know each other over the years. Dimitri is the archtypical Carpathian ancient. The centuries taught him patience and he has the intelligence to know that only by winning her trust and letting her come to him will he get past the horrors she has endured. The interplay and friendship between Skyler, Josef and Paul was some of the best parts of the book. Friendships like this one are rare, it is a Feehan staple to show that love and humor in any form gets us through the worst things in life. I enjoyed the camaraderie, the humor and Dimitri's acceptance of the two brothers of her heart. Seeing so many of the characters from previous books was great as well. Knowing that Gabriel, Lucian and Zacharias would show up at any minute had me smiling each time Josef or Paul mentioned them. Then there is the continuing storyline of the Lycan / Carpathian upcoming (?) war. We had to know with the defeat of Xavier, but not of the all the Malinov brothers that a new plot line was coming. I can't wait to see how Zev, Branni, Gary and Gabriel (?) will fill the next books. Will the growing number of Guardians be enough to defeat what is coming? I for one can't wait to find out. Looking forward to Dark Blood ... Is it September yet????

S.M. J's REVIEW DARK WOLF
Wow this was a good book, not as fast paced or engaging as DARK LYCAN, but I loved it. I'm eager for Dark Blood now. Skylar and Dimitri were wonderful. As well as Lucian for allowing cooler heads to rule. Poor Gabriel he certainly showed it's painful for father's when they have to let go of their little girls. Francesca was amazing theirs nothing like a mother's love and Christine showed that in this book. Skylar a.k.a little ivory has done a lot of growing up, and she is definitely not a little scared girl anymore. UPDATE: I have not read the book again but after thinking about what I had read I realized several important things about this latest Dark book #1 I absolutely loved Dark Lycan it's one of my top ten favourites of any author that means I have spent money to buy it on my kindle, nook, audible version, and hardcover version for my bookshelf. I found Dark Lucian to be extremely funny, with the banter between Dimitri, fen, and Web. Yes we got a bit of that here but Dark Wolf was a Darker Book when compared to Dark Lycan. However, it was not nearly as Dark has Dark storm. #2. Dark Wolf was a bit slower and not as action filled as Dark Lucian, because Christine took more time with the more sensitive emotional issues that needed to be worked out, so if you liked books like Dark Destiny, and Dark Peril you should definitely like this addition to the Dark Series. Christine also took her time to show how the two main characters had grown closer over the last few years which is something we were given peaks of in books like Dark Slayer, and Dark Curse. #3 This book although a work of fiction deals with the very serious real world issue of racism and intolerance, this is something we have seen through out the series between the the human's and other various species in the series, but WOW it has been pushed in the forefront in this trilogy with the Lycans because son e of the new characters had even made it clear that mixed bloods needed to be exterminated much like Vick roaches, before they breed. You can see Mikhail walks a delicate line wanting to let the Lycans feel their concerns have been heard, and trying to reign his people in who find the Lycans intolerance and unwarranted hatred of mixed bloods ridiculous. This was definitely a wonderful addition to the series with Skylar more often than not leading her lifemate passed the delicate emotional issues like sex, and feeling of inadequacy. Amazingly I even learned to like Zak somewhat in this book which was shocking since I did not like him or his lifemate at all in their book Dark Predator which is the only book in the entire series I did not like.

OMG
I love this book, after a decade in the making dark wolf is finally here. I loved that you could see the growth in Skyler from when she was younger and traumatised to now. Seeing further glimpses of Joseph and especially Paul maturing I can't wait to see if they get their own books. The plot was great taking the series in a whole new direction with another threat of anihalation and war was great as well as the overall story with humour. The chemistry between Dmitri and Skyler was off the charts and it was scorching. This book is one of Feehans best in a long time for me amazing!!!!! :)

Wow !
