Great looks, runs small, recommend another look at the size adjustment knob for user comfort
Great helmet. I have no qualms with the look or styling. The flip visor is a great design for use when the sun is out. The fit runs a little small. I ordered a L/XL helmet and I have a 59.5 cm circumference head. According to the size chart, this is within 1 cm of the max circumference for this particular size. However, I couldn't wear the helmet for more than 10 min without getting a headache (this is of course with the size adjustment knob opened to its widest extent). Also, the size adjustment knob on the back was both uncomfortable and restrictive. As one other reviewer noted, it rests firmly on the top of the neck where it meets the base of the skull. When located here it prevents the wearer from looking up to any great degree. Because of the tight fit and the restricted range of motion I went ahead and cut the adjustment knob mechanism out from the summer liner. With this modification I have increased range of visibility and greater comfort. The helmet still fits snuggly, but without the uncomfortable pressure and related headaches. Thankfully, the liners are relatively inexpensive, so this is a low-risk modification to the helmet without compromising its safety performance. Users with smaller heads may not benefit with such changes. If your head is larger, I definitely recommend sizing up the largest size.

It was the only one that didn't make me feel like I had a mushroom on my head
I shopped for 3 weeks locally and online for a low profile thin stylish helmet that I, the guy who refuses to wear a helmet, would actually use when riding on dangerous roads. I purchased and tried three similar products with this 'urban commuter' style. The Bern was by far the thinnest and lowest profile of the bunch. It was the only one that didn't make me feel like I had a mushroom on my head. The helmet, in my opinion, is the best in class for small size and style with a certification. The only issue I have to mention is the sizes. Pre 2014 Bern used a Velcro closure adjustment on the liner to fine tune the size. Post 2013 they switched to a dial system. The two liners fit differently, the Velcro one running tighter and the dial looser. Bern uses a S/M L/XL XXL/XXXL size system. I take a Med in all my clothing and accessories and found myself right between the S/M and L/XL sizes. The helmet mold for the S/M was the correct size, but the S/M liner was too small. I ended up buying a L/XL liner and installing it in the S/M helmet. It fits like a glove and I am fully satisfied with my purchase.

An almost-perfect helmet
This helmet looks as sharp as a bike helmet is capable of looking, and it fit my small head almost perfectly. Unfortunately, it was just a tiny bit too large, so the front and visor would come down too far over my eyes. This proved to be an easy fix, however. I purchased a helmet liner on Amazon, and I simply wear that underneath. Bonus is that you can wet the liner and have it cool your head if you are the kind of person who sweats a lot while biking. For me, the bonus is that I can probably fit a thin cap underneath it when it starts getting cold.

Hipster style great for a city bike.
Its nice but when i tried to remove the lining, the buttons came off. 3 out of 4. It was easy to snap back on. Looks great if you ride a beach cruiser or a city bike. It has a hipster style. You can remove the visor and it looks like a Bell Faction skate helmet. Its not just plain round like a cereal bowl. There's some shape to it. Its a bit snug. I bought the S/M. My wife has a M Bell helmet and its a bit looser. The next size is L/XL which would have been too loose.

Good-looking, comfortable, and functional - what more can you ask for?
Easily the best bicycle helmet I've ever owned. I absolutely love the blue / red combination, and between the visor and the thickness of the helmet (thinner than usual because of Bern's unique injection molding process), you won't look like some BMX-riding teen. You also won't look like you belong in full Lycra, if that's a concern. This is, as bicycle helmets go, pretty stylish. As far the fit, it's very comfortable. I'm on the upper end of the "large" head size by Bern's measurements, so the rear head tension adjuster is maxed out on mine, but the result is a snug, stable helmet - exactly what you want in a bike helmet. The strap is high quality and doesn't rub or aggravate my skin (an issue with cheapies), and the flip visor really is a pretty great extra if you ride in a lot of sunny weather. It breathes well, though obviously you're getting less airflow than many of the racing and touring bike helmets out there. The tradeoff, I'd argue, is your head won't get sunburned in the summer, and in the rain your hair won't get soaked. As far as impact resistance, I hope never to have to test it, but the Brentwood seems extremely solid and Bern has a pretty good reputation for building quality helmets. You're paying a premium here for what is a fairly casual helmet, and I'd say it's worth it.

A little too small, and a little too big. Made for round heads.
It's built solid, lightweight, quality materials, etc. The helmet itself looks really cool, but it looked huge and goofy on me. Now on to the fit. I first ordered the L/XL helmet based on measurements I made, but it was so tight that it hurt to wear, even when the adjustment knob was fully loosened. I returned it and bought the XXL/3XL and although it fits, it's a little on the loose side, and if I tighten the adjustment knob too much I can really feel it starting to dig in to the base of my skull. I guess my head is just somewhere right between the two sizes. I think maybe it's a little longer and less wide than the average skull. When I rode with this helmet it wobbled quite a bit side to side. I wound up returning it for a Bell helmet which fits much nicer.

Great helmet that is worth the premium
Love my Bern helmet, have it for a couple of months now and use it several days a week. It is really comfortable and the fit is great through the mechanism in the back. I already had a fall on the pavement with it and it saved the day!

And if they don't find it cool and totally comfortable
Bought for a 9 year old, with a very difficult to fit head of 54.5 cm: Bought the S/M. I've tried him in all sorts (including other Bern hats) without luck, but this one fits perfectly. V. Expensive I'd say - but then what price do you put on safety? And if they don't find it cool and totally comfortable, and instead they find it tricky or impossible to get it adjusted to sit properly, that leads to all sorts of problems for me! Worth the extra money in the end. His older brother is v. happily fitted with a cheaper Bern style, but it didn't fit him for whatever reason.

Great helmet, but beware of poor sizing chart.
Great looking helmet but sizing chart is completely off the mark. My head measurement indicates a large/xlarge helmet was needed. When I tried it on it was very tight and uncomfortable- this was despite my head circumference being well within the sizing tolerances (it was mid range). I could adjust it, but not enough to resolve the problem. I checked a number of cycling forums which highlighted this is a common issue with Bern helmets.
