The inside stainless steel base what grade is it? Where is it made?

It's 304 Stainless Steel, it’s made in China and designed in United States.

I am concerned about lead in the glass if it is made in China. What are your quality controls for this?

Tap the edge of a spoon on it if it's lead it chimes. The more lead the longer the chime. As in crystal. Glass pings and stops right away. No advantage for them to add lead to glass. Lead is naturally occuring everywhere so some tiny amount may occur.

With this lid is it closed? It looks open in pictures.
