Sharp, sturdy, easy to use
Finally clippers that will cut my huge dog’s huge thick nails. I was amazed how well they worked. I have bought eight different pairs in the last year- all advertised to cut huge thick nails. None have worked until now.

Great nail clippers for large dogs with thick nails
We have 2 dogs with different types of nails. One of them is an extra large dog with thick nails that are always extremely hard to cut. Adding to that, his absolutely hatred of having them done. The last 2 pairs we purchased were unwieldy to our hands and didnt cut the nails quick or clean. We tried these and they work amazing on both dogs. We can clip the large dog's nails much faster and the handle allows for a great grip and much better control. Sharpness of the clipper is also perfect.

Working decently, wish they had the extra large
ETA: These are actually holding up better than I thought they would as they seemed to be dulling. I think it was how hard my guys' nails were, as these are still going strong. I've bought another pair as a spare. I wish they had the extra-large size. My dogs are currently 75 pounds and 90 pounds with claws of cast iron. These ended up being the only clippers I bought that even worked at all.Original review: I bought these because the brand I’ve used before just didn’t seem as sharp when I bought them again. (My last pair had lasted for several years.) Anyway, these clippers seem really sharp and go through my large dogs’ (70-75 pounds with grizzly claws, I swear) toenails very well. I’m not having to use as much force as I had to use with the other new pair. I expect these to hold up well and keep their edge, and if they don’t, I will amend this review and renew my search. What I’d really love is clippers that automatically located the quick and had some type of enclosed laser to painlessly slice through just beyond it for the perfect quick and painless nail trim. Oh, well, we can dream!!! Very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent product
I have 2 adult Rottweilers, and my vet increased the cost of trimming nails, from 40.00 each to 110.00 each. I decided to do it myself, and these clippers made it a success! They have a small guard, (so I could judge the place to cut), they are sharp, and the padded handles helped my hands to squeeze with pressure. Great Quality and excellent value!

Terrific clipper: works efficiently and is painless for you and your pet
Nail cutting for dogs is always a difficult experience - both for you and your dog. My three pugs all have foot fears! None of them like their feet touched so it was always a wrestling experience trimming their nails. Each of them has different foot issues this nail clipper has solved: one has nails that grow faster than the other two put together; one has somewhat deformed feet, with her nails growing straight out; the third one has diabetes so his feet are sensitive and you cannot make a mistake so you cause bleeding! Between the three of them, I had given up nail trimming entirely (I had one of those awful guillotine cutters) and was paying $10 per dog to a groomer to trim their nails. This nail clipper from Epica solved that and has paid for itself several times over! This trimmer has a number of advantages over other trimmers, especially those common guillotine pet nail trimmers:1) the rubber on the handles make it easy to grip so you can hold it well and it won't slip.2) It is ergonomically correct for your hands so you can use all your hand strength to easily cut those thick nails.3) It is sharp so you can go fast and fully cut through the nail on the first try. There is nothing worse than having to keep cutting the same nail over and over again because your cutter isn't sharp enough - it's like torturing the poor dog. When nail trimming a dog, speed is as important as accuracy!4) And, finally you can actually see what you are doing and where you are cutting (you can't really see what you're doing on those guillotine cutters). It even has a little guide on it to help you so you don't go too far and cut into the nail quick. That makes it mistake proof ... and when you make a mistake cutting a dogs nails and cause them pain and/or draw blood you have a disaster on your hands. Not only do they never want their nails cut again but, if they're diabetic like one of my boys, you can cause major infections if you cause bleeding. This unit is exactly like the one the vet has -- and now I'm equipped to cut nails as well as they are (and they charge even more than the groomer!). Thanks for this -- it has really helped me care for my dogs. Now ... if I could just get my 2 cats to just sit still for a nail trimming.............!

Good for nervous dogs
Easy to cut and trim nails. Wide opening and comfortable grip. Much quieter than the electric grinders.
