Description says "PCM." The seller says "BMS" in the answer. Obviously, these two are not the same. If it's "BMS," why hasn't seller contacted Amazon to change the description?

Q: Can this battery be directly connected to a 100W x 18V solar panel, or must a separate charge controller be used?

The manufacturer's answer of "yes" has only been helpful to 5 out of 11 people. Weird. To help clarify, multi-cell lithium batteries should have an internal battery management system (BMS) that will cut-off any charge voltage outside the range. My LiFePO4 battery cuts off at 27.2V by the BMS settings, but my head-system floats around 28V to top the paralleled SLA bank I use for range protection. Note: Do not mix battery types without (qualified) engineering knowledge and adequate safety measures.

Q: Can this battery be connected in series with other same batteries to make 24 or 36 volts?

You can connect them to 24v,and you should keep voltage of 2 batteries on same levels. It’s not good to connect them over 36v.

Q: can you maintain the charge on this battery with a 5w solar charger?

Yes,we suggest 18v solar panel,and 5w seems little lower
