Bella - Pro Series Belgian Flip Waffle Maker - Stainless Steel

I had a Bella unit similar to this that I bought a few years ago that quit heating on one side. I could not find a direct replacement, so I tried other units that only lasted a couple of months and did not work nearly as well. I make waffles every week for my family. I stumbled upon this pro version of my old one, and it is fantastic! Just what you would expect, a better faster version of my beloved waffle maker. I got it for less than half the retail price too. I was about ready to spend much more out of desperation. On behalf of me and my family, thanks Bella for making an incredible product. I am considering buying another just in case this one ever gives out!

The item was intact when it came out of the box. Handled gently and readied for use, batter made and ready to plug it in for its first use. The plastic housing for the rear axle that allows the flip just broke for no particular reason, cracked and fell apart. I had to piece it together with a quick repair with a wire tie and some duct tape so that I could serve a special waffle breakfast that I was right in the middle of. In doing so, a simple examination of the thin, cheap plastic parts made it very obvious that this appliance was made to fail by design. the manufacturer knows this is defective crap, and sells it anyway. Shamless garbage.

We've had this for a few weeks now, and we are loving it. It is very simple to use and very reliable. Once the temperature setting is calibrated by little trial and error, we leave it at that setting and it makes perfect waffle every time. The waffle is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. We got our favorite waffle mix from Costco: "Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes Flapjack and Waffle Mix, 72 oz" (Kosher, Non GMO, 100% Whole Wheat and Oat Grains, 14 g Protein).The maker is easy to use, just a squirt of the olive oil cooking spray into both the top and the bottom part of the waffle maker, pour slightly less than 1 cup of the batter in, spread it out evenly, and flip it over until the blue light comes on to indicates it is done. It takes about 3.5 minutes to make each waffle. The waffle comes out evenly dark golden color - crispy outside and moist on the inside.

This works great for us when preparing waffles to freeze for our kids. We break them into 4 squares, flash freeze, then put them in ziplocks, kids are able to out them in a toaster to rewarm. The only thing I don't much like about this iron is that the temperature doesn't go high enough. We have it turned to the hottest setting and that's just enough to get it done. I usually leave it an extra minue or so after the "ready light" turns on.UPDATE: Suddenly died after 2.5 years. Super bummed because I liked this waffle maker.

So happy with my new Belgian Waffle maker! I like the square shape. It makes bigger waffles to feed everyone more quickly. Waffles do not stick to the surface at all! I really do feel like a pro using this waffle maker!

Bella instructions claim that this is non-stick and you only have to put oil on the waffle plates on the first use. We've been using for 2 months now and still have to oil the plates every time or waffles stick. Disappointed.
