Quality Contruction and Materials
This is a very spacious bag. I mounted it on the rear fender rack of a Softail Standard. Perfect fit and follows the contours of the fender nicely. Very high-quality construction and materials. Excellent product.

Made in USA; as good as it looks
This is a nicely made rack pack that exudes a high level of quality. While you might be able to attach this pack directly to the rear fender area, IMO it works best if you give it a flat surface to sit on …like a rack or the passenger area of your seat. I call it a “pack” because when you remove it to take with, you can carry it like a bag (with the built in handle) or you can strap it to your back like a pack. The Chase Harper “Tail Trunk” is made in the USA and is a big reason I chose to buy it. The “trunk” is well made and, IMO, well worth the $72 (usd) I paid for it …something rare in this day and age where we are flooded with cheaply made, but expensive to buy, Chinese junk. I also like the fact I’m supporting a small U.S. business when I purchased this from Chase Harper. The description says the bag is water resistant; I cannot make any comments to the efficacy of that claim so I didn't rate it. While the design of the YKK zippers look to be more water resistant than regular zippers, I would strongly consider packing anything you definitely don’t want to get wet in plastic bags …just to be sure.I purchased the adjustable strap mounted version of the bag. I figured bungee cords are easy to come by, and if I do decide to use them, I can get the lengths that’ll work best for me. Installation instructions are generic, which makes sense, given the variety of mounting scenarios. So, you need to engage a little ingenuity when attaching the strap-mounted version. Mounting wasn’t difficult, but I had to figure out how the straps worked and configure them properly. Once I got the straps squared away and how to route them, the bag sits securely on the rear fender rack of my DR650. I like how well the bag sits and looks on the bike; it has a slightly raked and rounded appearance with a curved front section. And like most things that “look good” you typically compromise ultimate utility. The bag isn’t the largest, but the main compartment is big enough to have a useful carry capacity; you can easily fit two,12oz, six-packs. The Tail Trunk is large enough for an overnight or 2-day trip if you pack judiciously. And Chase Harper makes a matching set of saddle bags if/when you need more space. Your helmet will not fit in this bag unless it’s a very small, open-face type.Ultimate security of the bag and its contents occurs when you take it with you. Barring that, you could create a level of deterance by securing the main compartment zippers to each other with a small lock. You could also gin up some type of woven wire security strap and lock to hold the pack to the bike. The Chase Harper US-made Trail Trunk is well-made, looks good, holds a fair amount and is relatively easy to install. If you're in the market, I highly recommend you look at the Chase Harper Tail Trunk.

Awesome tail bag!
Exactly what I needed. This is a perfect fit on my Zero FXS. This bag is roomy, but designed sort of egg-shaped so it’s fatter at the bottom and just slightly narrower at the top, which is a nice contour for a tail bag. It looks great too—like it was made for my bike. It’s sort of padded inside and very durable—almost like a hard case, but still has the “give” of a bag. The attached bungee straps are awesome for securing it to my bike, especially since I don’t have a rack. Even with my huge chain, a lunch box, and my clothes inside, this bag doesn’t budge. At first I wished it had more compartments inside, but there’s one mesh inner pocket inside the top zip flap which is sufficient. There are two outer mesh pockets on each side also. The stretch cord zig-zagging the top of the bag is great. Sometimes I shove a pair of shoes or the liner for my jacket in there. Quick and easy. Bag comes with a shoulder strap which can detach if you don’t need it. I took it off and stuck it in an outer pocket since I pretty much leave the bag attached to my bike all the time, but it’s good to have in case I wanted to carry it at some point. I don’t know about water resistance because I haven’t been out in rain at all but I can’t imagine anything getting through this bag because of how it’s constructed. This is literally the perfect bag for what I needed. Great price. Well-designed. High quality.

Pretty decent
I’m using it a on a 2003 Z1000. It has a pretty typical tiny rear seat. The attaching straps are a little bit hokey. They don’t hold it in place super well. However, for a universal fit, it work as well or better than I had hoped. I feel it was worth it to buy the name brand bag. I’ve had it for a couple summers now and it has not fallen off or apart. About the only thing that is lacking for a typical motorcycle bag is expandability. But it does have some elastic cords and rings and such. I just wanted something to bring my lunch and stuff while commuting. This bike has such a gorgeous finish on the tank, that I want to avoid a tank bag…This thing is just what the doctor ordered! Totally recommend!

Great luggage!
Awesome bag. Bought a few other brands/styles; looking for that “perfect one”. This definitely fits the bill. Great quality and well thought out design. I purchased the strap mounting system and with a little fiddling, it’s secure. Mounted on a KTM 390adv with Tusk rack.

Excellent tank bag
This is an excellent magnetic tank bag. If I swing my leg over my bike then its on my tank. For everyday it fits a couple Tupperware containers for lunch, a coffer thermos, wallet, phone, keys, disc lock, and a few other small items. On long trips its great for stuff you don't want to dig out of a larger bag like snacks drinks, portable charger, spare gloves, etc.I have about 12k miles on it in all sorts of conditions, extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, dirt and dust, and its still going strong. No rips, tears, frayed seems, etc.The magnets are strong! I've had it at 145 many times and never once has it waived. I've never used the safety strap, just the magnets. Over stuff it to the point the bottom bows and it starts to get questionable at higher speeds but it takes a lot off stuff to bow the bottom. All in all I'll have this bag for a looong time. Whenever it eventually dies I will definitely being getting another one.

This tank bag is beyond amazing!!!
This gorgeous (Made in the USA) beast is a beauty! It's rugged with super strong zippers, and lots of pockets, and can be carried as a backpack.Unfortunately, I had to return it because it won't fit/hold on to my gas tank the way the tank is shaped. I just got the CFMOTO IBEX 800T and wasn't too familiar with the shape of the tank until I tried putting this bag on it. Such a bummer. I really loved the bag and wanted to keep it.
