I had a mount that worked fine, but my wife was not a fan. So, after seeing this or a similar one as part of a larger package at a warehouse store, I decided to buy a single one for my wife to try i her vehicle. Not only did he like it, but when I took her car and used it I became an instant fan. I have since bought one for myself and one as a gift. My son also now wants one after seeing its utility. Once attached to the dash, the phone attaches easily to the mount and stays attached. I think it is pretty much perfect.

It was easy to use and easy to mount. I’ve tried a few phone mounts and they all stuck into the vent unit and the magnet wasn’t strong enough to hold my iPhone X. There were times the mount itself would not stay on the vent. Or it wouldn’t hold the position I would need my phone to be in. I would make a slight turn while driving and it would fly into my lap or my other seat. I highly recommend this product, it works really well and isn’t in the way of anything. - sturdy - holds the position or angle you need it to - easy to use/mount - not in the way of the vent

I love this mount ita small and simple. The ball joint locks really good but not rock solid. It would be incredible is they made one in aluminum but with the same flexible mounting plate. The mounting plate is really nice, small and flexible so it takes to any spot you could want to mount it.

I've used the older Scoshe magnetic mounts with success but I liked that this one has pivoting head and a stronger magnet for larger phones. It was nicely packaged and everything seemed very nice. The tightening nut seems to be a hard plastic with a soft rubbery coating but it tightens nice and securely. I appreciate the inclusion of two faceplates and while the silver is nice, I much prefer the subtlety of the black. I'm weary of using adhesive products on my dash board and while you can see that it actually mostly fit into the single din tray, I decided to mount it on the passenger side dash facing the driver. Also, mounting it in the tray would block the majority of my head unit so I didn't want to block it. It went on ok but despite the bendable portions of the mount, my first attempt didn't go as well as I would have hoped. The curves of the dash caused part of the adhesive to not hold well. Since I wiped the dash down well with the alcohol swab provided, the adhesive lifted without too much of a problem and I reapplied it in a better position. It has held in the new position well and I have not been concerned about the fact that I removed it once and reapplied. I applied the metal plate to the back of my iPhone 7 plus case so it holds very well. I found that due to the positioning of the mount, it puts less stress on the adhesive to remove the phone from the mount from bottom to up as opposed to side to side. I imagine people will see similar results depending on how and where they mount this. While I so far trust the adhesive I wouldn't want to put unnecessary stress on the adhesive so I would warn against using it indelicately if it's been in the hot sun for a while. One thing I never really cared for about these mounts was that the rubber used would collect a lot of dust and lint and look messy. Since this mount comes with two removable faceplates, I cut a small piece of microfiber cloth and set it under the faceplate. The microfiber looks cleaner and nicer in my opinion and you can see for yourself in the pictures I posted. The one warning is that if you are using your magnetic plate under your case, the cloth may be too slick to hold onto your phone well. For my phone with the plate on the outside it holds great and actually is easier to turn into landscape easier without removing it from the mount. I like the mount but I have a hard time seeing twice the value here compared to the standard Scoshe mount at around $14. It is still a great mount that does what it is intended for but what I really appreciated about the original mounts was that they were reasonably priced for a great mount. In the end it holds strong to my dash and my phone and I appreciate the bonus removable face plate as well as the functional ball joint that allows for great positioning that holds extremely well. I docked one star just for the price but if the price doesn't bother you at all then consider this a 5 star mount that I can easily recommend.

I have a huge phone (Huawei Ascend Mate II), so while I was really excited to try this magnetic mount out, I was skeptical about whether or not it would hold onto my gigantic phone. I've been using it for a solid week and am SO happy I got it! It's so much better than having my phone mounted via suction cup to my windshield...I use my phone constantly for navigation, and now I don't have to lean forward to make changes to my route or answer the phone or dismiss messages. Much safer for everyone on the road, not just me. 😜 As far as how secure the mount is, I have had zero issues. I cleaned my dash as instructed and when I stuck the flexible sticky part of the mount where I wanted it, I applied direct pressure (also as instructed) for about 45 seconds. I placed the magnet directly on the back of my phone and then put my phone case on, and I did not lose any magnetic strength doing so...my phone stays locked in place until I remove it! Because I want this thing to last forever, I will say I am somewhat careful about taking my phone off the mount - I don't just yank it off the magnet, but instead place one hand on the part of the mount stuck to the dash and then pull my phone off with my other hand. It takes a fraction of a second longer than just snatching it off with one hand, and makes me feel much better about the integrity of the part stuck to the dash. So happy with this purchase and am recommending it to everyone I know! 😀

At first I loved this, but after my raving review, the adhesion totally failed. I just didn't notice that it was already separated. The base has a very thin adhesive on it, but that didn't work at all. Once I added the 3m tape to the back of it, I got it to stick pretty well to the smooth surface of my car. Then the top began to separate almost immediately, and over the period of a few days completely fell of more than once. This was due to high temperatures in my car, but was begun at reasonable temperatures. The item is cheap enough that I don't want to return it, but now I have to buy more 3m tape, which will likely look a little funny, and scrape the preexisting thin tape off so that the new tape adheres to the plastic itself. I hope that fixes the problem, otherwise I'm going to have my husband drill a hole to make it work. Pros - easy to install and powerful magnet that works through my phone case. Cons - can't use it because the tape doesn't hold to my car.

Wondering why I hadn't noticed this product before now. And I can't believe it took so long for such a perfect, universal mounting option to come along. It's amazing, basically just throw your cell phone at it and you're good to go. As other reviewers have noted, you may want to take a good look around your dash for a mounting location before ordering. There are other mounting options you could order instead, including one that clips onto the AC vents. This kit came with two different sized metal plates to attach to the phone. I put the larger (and heavier) plate on the back of my phone. That will give me the option to put my large phone on the Magic Mount even with my case on. This is the perfect option if you swap cars around the family. The various mounting options can also be used around the house to keep your phone and tablets handy.

I want to start off by saying that I think this is still currently one of the best Vagner mounts on the market. That being said, I think there are 2 significant flaws that keep this from being perfect: 1. The foam adhesive sticks amazing. I assume it’s 3M’s VHB tape which is indestructible. However, the foam flexes too much and is amplified given the phone sits much higher from the mountrd serface. This means that as you drive, the phone giggles, and on these California roads, shakes. It’s not a deal breaker, but definitely annoying. 2. I’ve found that the threaded ring that clamps down on the ball joint, holding the mount position in place, continually loosens to where you you have to re-tighten it every few days as the whole mount droops from the weight of the phone. 3. Lastly, the threaded ring is the weakest point of the whole mount. Within 4 months, it has cracked, yielding the entire thing useless. I messaged Scosche directly on their website about getting a new ring, but never heard back. I’ll be reaching out again. Overall, I really don’t think there’s a better option out there. It’s a great design and very strong magnets that won’t drop your phone at all. But the above issues keep me from loving it. Hope this insight helps!

After trying 4-5 useless plastic gizmos, found this item while searching on youtube, its perfect. I mount the foot vertically on the dash so I had to screw 2 little bolts but I have 2009 car so I didn't care, I just wanted a strong hold, have to say that I didn't even try with only the 3M adhesive. For the metal plate and the magnet part, its pretty strong. I'm very please with the result.

I was really struggling to find a phone mount that I felt didn't look out of place in my car and I'm so glad I found this one. There are definitely cheaper options but I am so impressed with this product that I believe it is worth every cent. Apart from looking great and blending in to my car, it has a super strong magnet and I haven't had any issues with my phone falling off or even slipping when connected to the mount, and I have very stiff suspension so I'm very impressed. I also really like that the metal plate that sits on the back of the phone isn't magnetic so I don't need to worry about sitting my phone with my wallet or anything along those lines. The metal plate is so slim and even though it is sat underneath my phone case the hold on the magnetic base is still so strong!

Comes off with a little tug - maybe it works on slick surfaces, but almost no car dash is slick.
