Metallics Permanent Hair Color, M72 Dusty Silver, 4.8 Fl Oz

I started with jet black hair. First I used a color stripper to pull out the black. Then coated my hair with K18 leave in mask. Didn’t wash for three days. This brought my hair to a burnt orange color. Then I used wella developer- a 30- with manic panic bleach. Coated in K18 leave in mask and my hair was lifted to a 9. Again- no washing for three days to allow the hair to rest and let the k18 do its job. Washed finally. Coated again in k18 and waited two days- then applied this hair color. Most importantly- when using got2b- follow the directions. Rinse the color out only- do not use shampoo and conditioner- that’s why so many reviews say the color washed right down the drain. Rinse throughly in cold water- not hot- not lukewarm. Apply the after color conditioner- let it set for the minimum two minutes- I let it set for 5-10. Rinse. Towel dry. I got the exact color on the box the first time around. Here’s the thing- this will not work on hair color any darker than a 7-8. So there’s a lot of reviews that say it’s crap….it's not- if you’re literate. After you’ve towel dried- another healthy coat of k18 won’t hurt. Then again- don’t wash your hair for 72 hours. After processing your follicles are wide open- and using shampoo will take the color right out. Let your natural oils return- use a damn good mask- and follow directions. For 12$ this is the best silver gray I’ve ever used. Will 100% use it again. Have been to numerous salons looking to get my natural gray blended and no one could do it.

M72 Dusty Silver - I bought this to try to ease the transition of growing out my gray roots. In the before photo you can see the gray grow out and the faded brown/auburn color. The after is one application of the Dusty Silver. Definitely not the dark ash color on the box, but it did what I wanted it to do, which was to make my gray grow out less noticeable and make it easier for my transition to letting it all grow out.

I bought this dye to use on light to medium brown hair because I’m tired of using products like Overtone to impart a natural gray tone that only washes out after 3 washes. My hope was this would function almost like a “permanent” gloss (I.e., not actually turning my hair color gray but giving it a “gray” or “cool” tone). But like other reviewers, even on parts of my hair that are definitely above an 8 in lightness, I just had the addition of “brown.” Essentially, my natural mix of silver and ash brown hair turned a WARM 6 brown. Great coverage and pretty… if that was what I was going for. I was trying to help transition to full natural gray, however. Instead I’ve basically gone two steps backward and have medium brown hair.

This product works well . I decided I didn't like the blondish look of the dyes used to help transition my hair into the now heavily gray that I have decided to embrace. I have been covering the gray for years. I used this and it works great. My hair now looks totally natural and I feel like I look like me again. I will continue to use it for as long as I need it. Application is easy and results are better than I expected. Inexpensive alternative to salon coloring and it leaves hair soft and well conditioned.

I gave this product 3 stars to be as fair as possible. My hair has never (ever) taken to the exact color portrayed on a box dye for at home use and unfortunately this application was no exception. My hair was a dark blonde with highlights and the dye simply gave my hair a darker hue but definitely not gray. Perhaps your experience will be different, hair is tricky like that. Either way, wasn’t much $ to give it a shot. Good luck!

Great for blending gray hair with natural hair color

My hair turning white and when that happens it looks orange in the ends I love this color perfect

Love this product. Used it before. My recommendation is bleach your hair out to a banana color if you want the results on the front of box. It is definitively not a product to go over dark blonde to brown. No result. You will be disappointed.

Very good product. It holds on more then 4 washes. Colour is great. I love it.

terrible results it did nothing my hair is a light color i used 2 boxes left in for 45 min and no result !! dissapointing waited for over a week to get it and nothing no color change at all !!

Wasn’t impressed with the color because it made my hair look dull! Won’t order again.
