Bandai Hobby 1/144 RG Gundam Astray Red Frame Action Figure

This is the best real grade kit yet! This gundam astray is really cool and good looking. The Gundam Astray has really good articulation and cool weapons. Like I said the weapons are really cool but the one most of you are going to use is the Gerbera straight. This katana has great detail but it is fragile, and if you bend it too much it will snap. But if you take care of it it will be fine and will be a great prop for this Gundam. this is one of the few Gundam kits that actually feels like an action figure. When completed this kit is solid and you can really play with. This kit took me about 3 hours and I am a beginner so I would say that even if you are starting now this kit will be fine for you. The one thing that was really cool to me is that the posable hands is actually strong enough to hold all the weapons unlike most real grade kits. I use these hands because they hold the weapons well enough and because of how the wrist work they will not fall out as easy as the set posed hands. This kit is really amazing and if you want to get into the real grade line this is the best one so far. For less than 30 dollars this kit is one of the best ones if not the greatest one you can buy. I do recommend that if you do buy this kit, do not put any stickers on the head cameras or the eyes because if you do not the eyes will really pop out and you will get the factor that this is the "real thing."

Building this model was a fun experience considering it being my first gunpla. There were issues with the articulated hands. They’re not strong enough to hold weapons due to very loose joints and the fingers detach easily. I was most impressed with the amount of articulation it has which makes it possible to choose a large number of poses. Looks great with some panel lining and decals. The best weapon is the Gerbera straight sword, although made out of plastic, is very detailed and looks like actual metal. I noticed from some reviews on here and from YouTube vids, gunpla builders had issues with the upper body easily detaching from the lower. Pressure needs to be applied until it snaps into place. On the head, I chose not to apply the green reflective decals as I found it difficult to handle the very small part that it is supposed to be applied to. Plus they have you apply multiple layers of decals to that piece (not sure why). Not to mention that piece itself is already clear green. All in all, this model was perfect for my first gunpla and worth the price I paid.

This is an older Real Grade, so it has problems. + It looks AWESOME once you've got it assembled and posed properly + Good selection of hands and weapons = The gold pieces are kind of ugly - Lots of tiny, fiddly armor pieces - A couple of bits that will probably need to be glued to prevent loss - Entire frame is MS-Joint, which leads to all the articulation being very weird and uneven If you can deal with it being an older Real Grade with all the MS-Joint problems that come with it then it's a very cool little model. I am pleased that the newer Real Grades have massively upgraded and eliminated almost all of the problems that are shown here.

Incredible gunpla! Absolutely love this model. It’s a fun Real Grade! The sword and poses are great! Took about 10 hours or less. Great decal stickers. Can stand without the need for a stand.

Love this RG! I built quite a few RG gunpla. Some of them have issue of parts falling off or parts became too loose. This kit has none of those issues. It's very solid especially after you apply decals and panel lines. The only thing I didn't like is the "Gold" part for the sword. They used a very dull gold color. When in fact, it should probably be close to "chrome gold". Also felt a little disappointed that this is the plain Red Frame. Nothing else included. There are lots of variation of Red Frame. Some of those are crazy and too much but I was expecting at least a "Flight pack" add-on. But there was never any official release. I got one from 3rd party seller. While it worked as intended but the build material was very poor. It just doesn't match the the quality of the original kit.

Love the detail. It was a fun build. Very small pieces. Not recommended for young children.

It was a fun little build, a little more challenging then my first gunpla. As others have said it has amazing detail and articulation, you need to work out the kinks in the joints and moving parts before assembly. I had some problems; I was having the hardest time figuring out the shoulder joints. One of the chest pieces broke at the connection point and I may have assembled it wrong so that's why it broke. The stomach piece doesn't stay in now so I may glue the two pieces in. It's to be expected that some parts aren't going to have a snug fit and glue may be required. A piece on one of the arms just doesn't stay on so I'll have to glue that and some other parts that are a loose fit. Overall, I'm satisfied and will be buying 2 more for kit bashing purposes.

This is my fourth gunpla model, first real grade and definitely not my last! The Red frame Astray RG is really well engineered and comes with a host of accessories. So far, the most versatile when it comes to pulling off the most elaborate poses. There is an inner skeletal frame that they've put some thought behind. I would recommend loosening this before you complete your build though. The parts that you use to move the arms and legs can seem fragile, so definitely wear them in. The level of detail is amazing and there's no shortage of decals you can use to readily make this thing look the business. I would recommend not sticking the eye stickers or the ones on top of the head. The way they're placed allows for some cool lighting that comes through on certain angles. I do have some minor gripes. The sword is amazing but the gold color they used looks cheap. I used a gold gundam marker to fix this though. Another is that after only a couple of days, the legs and arms have loosened. Having said that, this kit should be experienced. Overall, this kit is fun to put together and also take photos of. Get a stand too to pull of some insane poses! As I can't give this a 4.5, it deserves the full 5 for fun factor alone.

Der RG Astray Red ist mein absoluter lieblings Gundam. Keine Probleme beim aufbauen und sieht super aus. Habe schon einiges an Erfahrung jedoch ist dieser auch gut für Einsteiger geeignet. Die Anleitung lässt keine Fragen offen. Artikulation des Gundams ist spitze und das Schwert ist ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Für den Preis von 35€ klare Kaufempfehlung.
