In Terminator: Future Shock you are a part of the human resistance who fights against the machines of SkyNet in the wreckage of Los Angeles. This game is a first person game, and as it came out before Quake, was the first game with free look. It has been compared to Quake (as has its sequel SkyNet). It has an evolving story and missions with a military feel, including briefings in which you can talk to several people and gather info, to the way the missions play out. There are 17 different weapons available. The game requires you to look that the compass in the interface, to make sure you are going the right way. It also has missions where you have to fly a plane or drive a car.

One of the best Terminator games out there.
Future shock was such a massive game for the time it was released. You are in this super massive world where you can go into houses, buildings, and gas stations. I found it really fun to play the game and enjoy some exploring. It felt like you were really in this wasteland and you're surviving.I got this game and I'm playing it on Dosbox. As with all dosbox games with cds, I found the best way to play is not directly from the cd. Instead copy the cd content into its own folder then mount the cd to that folder. It will make the game run extremely fast instead of waiting for the disc to spin and load. Future Shock works very well with dosbox and I didn't encountered any problems. As far as Future Shock game itself, it marks the first successful Terminator game, at least in my opinion. The best Terminator game before this for me was titled The Terminator released in 1990(91) and made by Bethesda too. Future Shock borrowed some concept from The Terminator and created a super massive open world for you to explore. There is no interaction with locals or anything and pretty much everything is a enemy. That isn't to say there aren't frustration to this game. For starter the flying and driving in this game are horrible. There are many levels with driving and flying that I find not so fun. I love the levels where you're in FPS mode shooting stuff up. However, close quarter battles are fairly hard to do. I'm not sure how I feel about it because in some ways the hard part is the fact that enemies blow up or otherwise occupy the same space causing damages to you. The close quarter battles feel somewhat cheap but if you're careful and save often you can survive easily.I do like the fact that each Terminator enemy has things on it that you can blow off with precision shots. You can actually blow off pieces from the robots and in some cases make for some excellent explosions. The one thing I was most excited about this game back in the mid 90s was the fact you could use the laser rifle with the scope on it just like in the movies. I found myself playing the game with the rifle frequently and always loved it.Overall I highly recommend Future Shock and Skynet. The cool thing about getting Skynet is that you can play Future Shock with slightly updated graphics. I highly recommend getting this game and Skynet, then installing Skynet to play Future Shock.

Best Terminator PC game made to date.
This is by far the best Terminator PC game ever made IMO. Back in 1995, when this was released, it was considered one of the most immersive FPS game worlds. This game runs almost perfect in DOSBox under Windows, BUT make sure to download and install the 1.30 patch before playing the game. There are a few glitches here and there, but nothing game breaking.

Bethesda's early hit
Excellent game, with great gameplay, story, and for the time features and graphics. It was ground breaking at the time, and was at times truly frightening and tragic.

Great classic.
This game was better than Duke 3d in 1996. It had a lot of ambience and was very atmospheric at the time when u were savaging through human remains and debris from the apocalypse. And one of the first games to use 3d models, as well as mouse-look.
